  1. Old Pyro tool.....a tough build.....tried twice as a kid because they were at Pic n Save for 50 cents.....
  2. I drove the 1.5 hours today....but I had to go any way...... got Dodge Dakota sport p/u Atlantic concept 64 Dodge 330 MPC Paddy wagon snaper and the best deal pound for pound...Dodge Ramunition monster truck....bought for parts..must be 3 pounds!! And yes....I checked auto paint and got some Dupli-color for 99 cents for big cans.....happy camper!!! Also got a Peterbilt 359 at Hobby Lobby for $20 along with some paint.....AND 2 cans Dupli-color #1699 sealer at Magic Mart $3 ea......a GOOD day!!
  3. That's what works best.......whatever works for YOU!! There is no one right.......but I feel it's a non-issue.
  4. I run a blue dist cap on my 66 Mustang 289W....so that's fine!! Two notes......the intake does hang past the heads on a W.....maybe not as much as the kit...but very close. I have a ton of these 1/1 engines. The front cover is generic enough that it can pass as either really.....but I get a W feel from photos.
  5. Two thin coats of Dupli-color sealer and no pinkish at all.......why I've used it going on 20 years...
  6. Stock ride height is pretty easy. The front and rear suspension mounts to the chassis with big round hollow posts. Trim the post a little at a time until ride looks right. Glue posts to chassis over pins in chassis.
  7. Reminds me of this real car too!!! Which became 'Elvis' in Mad Max Fury Road.....
  8. I see a few 'I need'......like a hole in the head....but pick them up anyway. thx
  9. I sprayed mine with two thin coats of Dupli-color #1699 gray sealer......sealed and you can't tell it was red.
  10. You make that intake look good!!!!
  11. nice and neat!
  12. Otaki or Arii big and littles.....can't buy enough of them!!!
  13. Workin on that right now. WB is good....greenhouse needs work. The MPC 1972 NASCAR body was cloned off the JoHan body. (the JoHan kit was also marketed by AMT) The JoHan parts swap without modification into the MPC body. Hood, bumpers, grilles and glass all are interchangeable. Wheelbase of the JoHan and MPC body are the same....but chassis is slightly different. The MPC chassis being the generic HM type set up. The JoHan racing chassis is a freelance design using stock components. MPC body with JoHan promo chassis and interior. JoHan front and rear bumpers too. All fits as if made for it.
  14. Thanks Gary...was getting scared....
  15. I want one if it has all the goodies.......
  16. Wheelbase is different between the RM kit and the JoHan 72........not much...1/8"....but different. Working on a NASCAR version today......cut out the engine bay and removed trim.
  17. I think it's great!! Is that a single layer of the white stripe?? Looks nice and white....good job over all.
  18. I know that kit!!!!! A number of years ago I took the challenge of building some old Lindbergh kits into something decent. This is that same kit you showed box art for.....maybe some minor tooling or additions. Cool ideas.
  19. I like it!! I built the Mustang II and have the resin for this one, Nice!
  20. The forum has been down for days....that's the main interest of many.
  21. The instructions say to apply sides first!!!! NOT gonna happen. A S&H build is sown my list.....and I may end up painting it....depends how others results of the decal come out.
  22. I think they got 90% or better......I resized this to the same size as the model.....not very scientific....but shows how close to me!
  23. I really doubt the MPC and SLIXX sheets will line up exact......the flag may be OK but getting the lettering....really hard. Congrats to SLIXX for doing the sheet.
  24. Other hobbies.........too many..........but a few...... My real Pony cars.....66 Mustang, 68 Mustang and 73 Javelin Real trains Model trains Hot Wheels. I was a kid tester for Hot Wheels before they came out......hooked ever since. Custom IMSA Cougar Hot Wheels.
