  1. You guys buy them for those wheels.......send the rest to me for proper storage!
  2. Watch out for the Gamers!!!!
  3. CLASSY!!!!!
  4. VERY cool build!!!! I did the decal art in the Moebius Hudson racers so any Hudson racer is neat!! The rebuilt firewall is well done......I've seen photos of these old fender-less racers but never tackled one. I think the #03 came from the Model King Chevy S-3 NASCAR kit....which I did the art for too! Nice work!
  5. LOVE IT!!!!! Love all showrods.....but western themed......my fav!! I have one myself in progress........need to finish.
  6. Buy a Flameout to prove they need to keep releasing the showrods.......John needs our support......without him...might not get any.
  7. I was just there 2 weeks in JAN.....and you guys are making me want to book another trip....... I'm lucky that my best buddy has an open room for me anytime......so for me...just the ticket there!!! Enjoy, take lots of pics......I have 100's in the www.currtail.com link below.
  8. When my daughter joined me in So Cal in JAN the one thing on her list......In-N-Out.......
  9. The old MPC 1960 Vette is like a 6 in 1.....bought 3 and I don't care for Vettes!!!! But make a kit a 3 in 1 or better ....I buy!
  10. I remember that from the instructions..... But while doing net search for info during build I found a photo of the white on white car of another starlet.....liked it better!! Just forgot who!
  11. They go together very well.....I was surprised how little 'fixin' the kit needed. Here is a in progress.......love to see a LA diorama......
  12. That's my buddies favorite shop.....it is COOL!
  13. As if you needed more things to do......... I grew up in So Cal.......and I visit every 6-12 months for a few weeks. Here are my top stops......not all car related. Griffith observatory A SUPER cool place. Original building in place......they built a NEW building UNDER IT! Peterson Museum......closed right now......so don't try......my buddies truck on display in 2013 Space shuttle display ......but it too may be closed......I was blown away....we went just as something to do.....but was fantastic. Just east of Pomona is the high desert region....I love this area. bottom line.....you need 2 very busy months in So Cal!!!! Good luck! Enjoy!
  14. Some great craftsmanship for sure........Kinda a 'what if' Dave Deal did a farm tractor!!!! A few years ago I wanted to do a farm hot rod.......what I ended up with.......
  15. VERY TRUE........but some people like that 'drag race' stuff........I never figured out why????
  16. Great work......paint looks fine. I too like that kit. I used Tamiya pearl white over their white primer......leaving the roof flat white. Tamiya is ALWAYS great....... Funny our builds are almost the same. Mine was built like some big movie stars real car....but forget who she was! It is a decent kit. The multi part body goes together well......2011 build.... Here are mine.... And a hot rodded version.....
  17. I'm old enough to have gone to many So Cal strips. Dad was the Valvoline racing director so I tagged along many days. Lions and Orange County Itnl stick in my mind. When I was in So Cal last JAN my buddy took me by Orange County......it's gone....but not really anything in it's place!!!! Noise....maybe....but the land just sits. Even as a teen we'd go to Orange.......fun place. First place I saw night runs....WILD!
  18. The 69 Cuda is still easy to find.......the Vega, if back dated, will sell like wildfire. I'll be in for 3-4 Flameout kits. It's a very cool showrod....I have a mint original kit....now I can build one. The boiler has a lot of chrome and is neat. Never had the wedge....2-3 of them. Thanks
  19. Take all the kits Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa and other family members buy.....and there is a HUGE hunk of the hobby kit sales (planes, ships, sci-fi cars etc) compared to the few folks here. Every 'ladys craft store' has a good amount of shelf space with plastic kits on them. Shelf space of any kind cost a store LOTS of money. WHY KITS?? Because they sell.....not to us.....to the Moms and Grandmas.....but they sell.....and a funky 'Garbage truck' is cute....and little Jimmy would love it. Gotta think about the big picture here......we are the niche.....a loud niche....but niche none the less. Promote the hobby in a positive manner. My 6 year old Grand daughter loves models and is very good at building. She doesn't pick what I might....but having her build.....fantastic.
  20. Pegasus for sure.....you're right there. I visit LA about once a year......I can visit different shops almost every day..... LOTS of shops....
  21. Harney has passed....so tough to do. I like Garbage truck and all Tom Daniels kits. Do you think Revell Monogram re-issues them because they DON'T sell?!?!?!?!?!? RM is in the business to make cash....as large amounts as possible. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean they don't sell. Do you honestly think they sit around and look for the kits that DON'T sell???? Really???? Work in the business 30+ years and get back to me.
  22. Welcome...... I too have a love of early Trans Am. I am somewhat a causal builder as I go for a look from 3 feet build. Many build better more accurate models.....but I have fun and enjoy it..... IMSA too...... I also sell a few early T/A decals......drop me a note if interested.
  23. Pretty sure an injected kit of T will not be done. The work it takes to design, test and complete a new 1/25 scale car tool is massive......a job that takes 4-5 people with LOTS of specialized talent......which this guy does not have. Kinda doubt a 3D printed kit will ever appear. I have worked in the model kit biz from retail, aftermarket, manufacture and design levels. I also produced a number of full resin car kits. It's more work than most know.
  24. I do a number of decals for model racing 510's.......we raced a real one in the SCCA series 1980's.
