Great looking 56 and I sure like those outdoor photos.

Great project which turned out fantasric. Looks better than the factory version with the boomerang taillights although they look good in elsewhere. Love the opening tailgate. Very good photography as well.

1970 Chaparral Camaro Trans-Am

Thanks Rich - The more photos the better. A couple of very cool things about this car that are sort of hidden are the Smoky Yunick inspired under hood plenum induction system and the exhaust recessed into the underbody floor. -

Thanks guys, Did some sanding this morning and things look promising. Also did some parts chasing. Have excellent set of detail photos from when it the car was for sale at Canepa Design. Rich - I am going to use the Fred Cady decal set. -
1970 Chaparral Camaro Trans-Am - I started this project a few years ago and after doing the initial work to convert the front end to full bumper configuration it got shelved. With the prospect of the release of a full bumper kit I figured I would wait until I could get one of those before resuming this project. I have recently learned the release of the new kit has been significantly delayed apparently due to some tooling issues. This project is the last one on my list of started but not completed builds and I needed something to work on so I am back at. Up front I managed to approximate the full bumper grill area by mounting the grill upside down. The small inner headlights were filled. The center section of the bumper started as 1970 Mustang piece. The parking light area under the bumpers were cut open and then filled. For the flared wheel-wells, I first cut of the stock lip. I then cut away the body to match the shape of the inner wheel-wells. To this I glued sheet styrene and then reattached the lip after which the whole area was puttied. The wheels and tires are from Replicas & Miniatures.

1/25 AMT 1970.5 Camaro Z28 - Full Bumper

I am not waiting. The grill area was turned upside down, the small inner lights filled, the parking light area under the bumpers cut opened and filled, the center part of the bumper from a 70 Mustang. I am building the Chaparral Trans Am racecar. -

Anybody have any news regarding this kit? I started doing a conversion a few years ago and is the last project on my started but unfinished list so I am tempted to get back at it and try to finish it before the new kit comes out. I have done the same thing a number of times before - Corvette C5R, Viper 2-Gen Coupe, Ferrari 599 GTO and 32 Ford 5-W Coupe -
Bound to be awesome. I know what you mean when you get an idea in your head you just cannot shake.

Gorgeous. Beautiful model. Excellent colour choice.

38 Ford Coupe Hardtop racer

Great to see this finished so soon after discovering your on the workbench thread. You really captured the look of a 38 racer. I really enjoy the photos of the two cars together in action. I remember cars just like these racing way back when and even attempted to build a model of one when I was a teenager in the sixties. Congratulations on a great project. -

This is the kind of model car building I enjoy - creating a car that is not available as a kit. Very creative. You're well on your way. You do not see many '38's even in 1:1. Another potential way to build a custom 38 might be to start with a Revell 1/24 '37 Coupe and graft on the nose from a Testors Coupster. -
Gorgeous. Look forward to under glass photos. I am sure glad I have one of these kits in my stash and hope my future build will be up to your standards. One of the largest Jaguar only car shows in the North America usually takes place every summer a few kilometers away. I always enjoy seeing the MK 2s.

I got the interior finished. I used some thin real white leather on the seats and dashboard trim items from the excellent Model Car Garage photo-etch detail set designed for AMT kits. Also used is the included ’39 grill with optional ’40 Standard center trim. I am sure I will be able to get the hood to fit better when completely finished.

Later day roof works incredibly well. I like it.

WOW This is stunning. Big Daddy would approve. Like David said - the 57 hood is a great addition

Wonderful to see -
Congratulations on the completion of your XR-6. Looks wonderful especially the engine. This car intrigued me when it appeared in Hot Rod and even more when the model kit came out. I may have had the kit as a kid but I know I never built an XR-6.

Very cool looking Porsche and the outside photography is very effective. Maybe you should post it Under Glass.
