  1. Or just fill up an air tank- we still have places offering it for free You'd still want to make sure it's clean and dry with filters/traps rather than trusting in it being "as advertised" anyways Seems cheaper to use air (whether you compress it yourself or not) than paying for the minimal advantage of pure (as opposed to 78%) nitrogen
  2. Another one of these on the way And a built up MPC 'cuda annual for a decent price
  3. Yet another AMT chassis with the horn glued in the place of the wiper motor (per the instructions , of course)
  4. The AMT Duster 340 in plastic is at least a nice assembled- a complete kit should run half the price of the fiddley resin and leave you enough cash for some aftermarket/photoetched bits if you really have to have them
  5. It seems I remember somebody offering the 70-71 Dodge wheel covers (code W11 on the following page) Anybody currently making these?
  6. Quite a few Chrysler passenger car engines were actually painted red-small blocks and slant 6's- through the 60's Hemis are orange- "Street Hemi Orange" is quite a bit redder and was used on later high performance engines compared to "Race Hemi Orange" used on Max Wedges and- you guessed it- race Hemis Kind of like the difference between Hemi Orange/Tor-Red and Vitamin C/ Go Mango exterior paint- different shades of orange
  7. You did notice the disclaimer on their catalogs and/or webpage to allow 4-6 weeks for shipment?
  8. The rallye wheels were a separate option and available on just about any Chrysler passenger car through the 70s The Twister package included rallye wheels (but trim rings were an additional option- I made some wheels less the rings for my '71 slant 6 Duster Twister)
  9. Got another original '71 MPC Road Runner annual for a decent price- just can't resist that vintage crisp, white plastic
  10. As far as parting lines- since they are part of the manufacturing process and would need to be removed (rather than a part being ablr to be produced with none) I would rather clean them up myself than paying many times the current price to have someone do it for me Don't think a handmade model kit is too feasable, even with Chinese labor costs
  11. Was sticking with Black, White, or Aztec Gold- the "recommended" available colors with Sundance interior Am planning on another in some sort of brown or gold with the V21 performance hood paint
  12. It's been a while, pulled this one back out First coat of paint Then decided an "assembly line" might be fun- picked out three more likely candidates: Started fitting AMT '71 Charger chassis and engine bays to these as well, two will have white interior so I dug out a couple unpainted white tubs from original '71 RR annuals Have enough to build all the factory colors (plus a couple doubles) as well as the different engine/trans combos. Current ones are dark green/dark green interior with a gold strobe stripe and 440 4 speed, black with white strobe stripe, white interior, and 340 4 speed, yellow with black interior, canopy top, air grabber, V21/V25 longitudinal stripes, 400 automatic, and gray with white interior, white "Tank Tracks" and a 440 automatic
  13. Flat black/gloss black looks neat as well Remember a sweet black AAR 'cuda at the local shows in the Toledo area from a few years back- cool effect as well
  14. Had the opportunity to see the real '70 car in the garage at the late Ron Slobe's house about 20 years ago He apologized for the new Corvette parked next to it
  15. Bahama Yellow (Butterscotch) is a mid-'69 color that seems to make the flat black hood "pop" on the A12 birds (not my pic or model- stolen from the web)
  16. Beautiful workmanship- can't say the same for the design though
  17. What happened to the steering wheel?
  18. The funny thing is I've found myself picking up a few of those old Chevy kits just to have another try I remember getting the late 70's "Lowrider" version of the Revell '57 (molded in a pink-lavender plastic)when it was new
  19. Found the Duster/Demon decal sheet from The Last Detail- cost more than I would have liked but had been looking for a while
  20. Breaking open a sealed inside original annual for this build- thinking of black paint (have a set of white stripes from Keith Marks) with a white and "Sundance" cloth interior- attempting some homemade decals for the seats and door panels
  21. Still a poor choice of kit for a detailed project- all the added doodads won't make up for poor basic proportions and crude design
  22. The really old "opening everything" Revell '55 has separate chrome trim as well The '56 comes with differnt chrome for your choice of the three trim levels of sedan
  23. No annuals- the 2 door Monaco was done through '78 by MPC though The Magnum was offered in resin in NASCAR form- have seen it converted to street trim with plenty of work
  24. Got a few more projects............ MPC Mopar A bodies- rebuildable plastic '71 Demon, a couple '71 Dusters, '72 Duster, '73 Duster, '75 Duster, Smokey Dart Sport plus a new '73 Duster and Dart Sport..... Some later 'cudas- Johan Sox and Martin '71, a couple MPC '72 and a '73 annual as well as some snap parts cars.... Another built '71 Road Runner annual, a spare '75 body, a sealed inside '75 'Runner, '75 Mach I and some other inexpensive older stuff
  25. MPC Trans Ams from 79-81 include a set of those wheels as the custom option
