  1. How's this one coming, Brad? I've got sprint car on the brain! Looking great so far, BTW.
  2. Thanks for looking guys! I have been making some progress on the components, but nothing much to show yet. Should have an update soon.
  3. Looks sweet, Jay!
  4. Wow, Dirk, you've made a lot of progress. Looks awesome! -Art
  5. Incredibly skillful work, Randy. Thanks for sharing- there's so much to learn here!
  6. Man, I really love those 3D drawings, Chris! Let's get this thing done, my friend and get it up to NNL West!!!
  7. Nice conversion!
  8. Very nicely done!
  9. Small update- I added a few more bars. The anti roll tubes on the ends will get trimmed later. Not much different visually, but this actually took quite a bit of time to get the rear cage braces done.
  10. Thanks, Johnny!
  11. Thanks, Danno!
  12. Not all the bars are in place, but the two frame rails are connected...
  13. I managed to get the other side built. Amazingly, it matches up pretty well with the first side!
  14. I think the brakes look awesome, Seth!
  15. Nice work on those decals! Truck looks great.
  16. Absolutely! I'm planning on being there, but not sure this one would be ready on time. We'll see, though...
  17. Mark, that paint looks great. What kit is this?
  18. Thanks, Tom! You may be right. No pressure... lol
  19. Thanks, guys. Glad you could see it. Parked over here in the die cast section, you may be the only ones who ever see it.
  20. Here's the die cast: This my first attempt at scratchbuiling an open wheel chassis and my first attempt at brass work. So far it's a lot of fun. It's not dimensionally correct to the real car, but is consistent with the die cast so that the parts fit.
  21. Usually I like to build serially, but lately I've been getting the itch to try some other things while I'm hung up on other projects. I have been dying to try working with some brass since I was given a rack of metal last year. I thought a good first project might be a replica based on parts and dimensions of a die cast midget I bought a few years back. I wanted to see if any of the parts would be a help to me in building my dad's midget he had back in the '80s. I'm not quite ready to start that project, but I thought instead I might modify the die cast to resemble my little brother's midget he raced in Indiana back around 2008. Most of the project will be scratch-built or contain parts from Monogram/Revell sprint car kits. Here's a few shots of my brother's car:
