  1. I also got the gauges in the dash. I wasn't too happy with the decals in the gauges being off center, but they can only be seen at an angle once installed and no one will be able to tell. I also have to thank John Teresi for giving me advice on wood grain a few years ago. It came in handy on this one and I think it looks pretty convincing.
  2. Just a small update here as I wrap this one up this week for the So Cal NNL this coming weekend. I added some fuel lines to the tank. What?? They don't run all the way back to the pump? Yeah, I figured it would be too difficult to make the fittings and feed them through when I put the body on, so I sectioned it. The gap is in between the abyss behind the tank and the interior, and with the trunk on, it can't be seen. So it's all good... Pro Tech braided line and fittings were used. a few more...
  3. Very cool! Nice work!
  4. Hey John! I think Paul Cadwell and Chris Hale are probably the only open wheel guys who have seen the Willys. I'll be wrapping this one up in time for Chris' show in a couple of weeks, and then I hope to get another open wheel build (or two!) on the bench. Thanks a ton for the compliment! -Art
  5. I'm glad I've got all you guys infected with Willys-on-the-brain disease! I do really appreciate all my friends here checking in!
  6. I hope so, Bill. Your work is an inspiration to all of us! -Art
  7. Hi Bill thanks!! Glad to see you resurface, and especially on my thread! Hope you are doing well. Art
  8. Looking forward to this one!
  9. Brad, I wish I had seen this sooner, but after seeing pics of this from the DSC, I went looking for it here. Great stuff, my friend. This type of build is in your wheelhouse, for sure! Awesome stuff... Art
  10. Chris, Older build or not, this is a great one. Glad to see it finished! -Art
  11. Thanks for the following along, guys! I wish I could have brought this to the DSC, but next year I will... Danno, that finish was a fortunate accident. I had sprayed it with Testors Aluminum Plate Metalizer and buffed it a little, but then I got a spot on it that wouldn't rub off. So I very gently tried to use some Blue Magic metal polish and it just lit up the finish, and since it was so dramatically different than than rest of the the finish that I had to do the whole thing. I didn't mind, because it really does look like real metal in person.
  12. Thanks for all of your kind comments, guys. It is very motivating. Here are a few more pics of recent progress... a few more...
  13. Nice pics, Brad. Wish I could have been there.
