  1. Thanks for the reply, Mark. I can see that type of foam being pretty useful.
  2. That is killer work, Curt! I'm not sure how I missed it at the NNL, being as big as it is, but I wasn't able to get around much being in the vendor area.
  3. Chris, my friend, it looks like you're in the zone where the work really looks like progress and all the work you've done beforehand to make it right is showing through. Keep it going! -Art
  4. Man, Tim, the precision with every update is clearly evident and inspiring. The planning is definitely paying off!
  5. It just looks spectaculr, Randy! It's easy to forget that it's only 1/24th scale.
  6. Thanks, Brother!
  7. Thanks, Seth! It's getting more and more challenging with the work I have coming up, but that's the best way to learn and get better, I think. Thanks, Chris! It's super fiddly to work with mocking it up, but once it goes back together with nice bolts and heim joints, it's going to be a little less frustrating.
  8. Randy, thank you so much! I'm really excited to hear you're going to be at the DSC. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and seeing your incredible work in person. I'm going to have a vendor table selling Charlie's excellent Pro Tech products, so you'll have to come find me. It's going to be a good time, for sure!
  9. Great work, Jim! Fun to watch...
  10. Nice job, Harry! Great work. -Art
  11. Looking good, Mark! What kind of foam did you use for the air cleaner? I need to do something similar for my midget and am looking for a suitable material.
  12. Nice looking model! Great job.
  13. That didn't take long! Nice job, Mark.
  14. Thanks, Tim!
  15. Brad, Thank you, but no, this is all new to me. I'm pleased, but there is still lots to learn! Regarding the brass source, about a year ago a friend of my father-in-law's gave him some metal to give to me, so I was told. When I went to pick it up, this is what I found: It's fairly well stocked, but the smallest tube was 1/16. I didn't think I could find any smaller, but I was trolling through my local Hobby Lobby the other day and found some 3/64, so I snapped up a few packages. I also wanted to order a Dirt Modeler front axle, but being that they were out of stock, I ended up jusy making my own.
  16. I finished up the axle kingpins on both sides, and fabbed up the drag link and got it all mocked up with the dirt modeler spindles. I also replaced all the 1/16" spuds that the radius rods mounted to with some smaller 3/64" tube to get that a little more in scale. I wasn't happy with the larger tube, but I honestly didn't know that I was going to find any tubing that was smaller. But since I did, I had to make it right. Here are some progress pics.
  17. Curt, John, Paul Cadwell and I are planning to head over to GSL together. It will be my third GSL, and I think you'll enjoy it it a lot. Tthanks, Brad! Glad you found me. I really appreciate the compliments. I definitely am learning new skills along the way on this one, that's for sure. I am, indeed, planning to be at DSC this year!
  18. Wow, Randy. I can really appreciate the level of effort you have in those A-arms and uprights. Fantastic work! -Art
  19. Michael, Thank you for looking... Most of the build is rod. The only place I used tube is on the anti-roll tubes on the end, and for the radius rod spuds and bumper spuds.
  20. Hey Ed, thanks for the compliment! You are correct in that it is a pavement car. He ran some regional USAC pavement stuff in the Indiana area, but that series is no more, so the car sits today... My dad took a midget to the Chili Bowl in '95 with Paul McMahan driving, but he crashed in practice and totaled the car.
  21. Thanks, Curt! Did you forget the convo we had about your Bike with the brass frame while you were waiting for MCM to photograph it? It was a long day... It's a great model, my friend.
