  4. Cool! That is one wild ride. Great job on the transformation. AzTom
  5. Thanks for clearing that up Harry, I had no idea who the heck Jim Crow was If he gets upset over that and wants to take his toys home, fine ..... although I like what he's doing to the car and would like to see the finish of it. Thank you for the Diecast section!
  6. Awesome build John. I would say it's perfect but I don't want to offend anyone. I would say that you perfected what you set out to do, make a great looking model of your dad's truck. I have seen many models, plastic and diecast made by large companies that didn't come that close to replicating the real vehicle. Love your work, AzTom
  7. It was really cool early this morning
  8. Those are all good questions. You can use solder for wiring or for a little stronger joint go with solder for plumbing. Google "How To Solder Brass" and you should get everything you need to know including U-tube videos on soldering. Get some and start having fun. Tom
  9. I use a Butane type mini torch, availble at most hardwares, Lowes and some hobby stores. The key is cleaning the joint area, I use steel wool. You want to make sure not to touch your cleaned area, oil from you finger will cause a poor joint. Tom
  10. Nice Paint job! AzTom
  11. Here is a photo of what the trailer started as, this one is for a future project. Painted and ready to go I made a Class 3 brass hitch for the truck (well, actually a Dodge ). I can post that build if anyone is interested. Thanks for following along.
  12. Very nice!
  13. Now that looks so real. Great job on the rust. Tom
  14. Nice job. The tires are on ebay at times.
  15. I'm glad you cleared that up. All I found was the old Revell racing truck that are only soso. The First Gear trucks are very nice.
  16. Bishop Ca. This was set up giving rides at a K-Mart in Phoenix a few years ago. Somewhere south of Lake Tahoe. This was parked behind my truck at a motel in Kansas In the parking lot at a tractor show in Buckeye AZ.
  17. WHOA! You don't want to spill any paint thinner by that water heater. Nice Truck
  18. Here's mine, A 10' kitchen counter top on two tool boxes.
  19. The "Replica" version has that rim. It has F60-15 Goodyear tires.
  20. Great start, be nice to see some better photos. I love these old Hubleys.
  21. That's some great custom work. Very nice. AzTom
  22. Thanks, First sorry about the blurry photo, it's the only one I have before it was painted. Brass drop down ramp. Ramp with Styrene strips super glued on for looks and primered. Gluing Styrene diamond plate on the deck Building a working jack stand.
  23. Thanks for the kind words, I love redoing these old things. I won mine at the famous Dessert Scale Classic model show a few years ago. I found this on ebay and looks to be the same type of chrome. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MGM-PRIMER-SPECIAL-CHROME-Electroplating-MAGIC-POWDER-FOR-GUNDAM-MG-HG-PG-/140779957196?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c723abcc The grill on my truck was done over the blue so it is not as bright as it should be. I did the trunk of an Ertl 1/18 car and it was a great mirror finish. Tom
  24. This is diecast Ertl farm trailer from the 70's. I didn't get a photo before I took the farm type tires off of it. Making brass fenders
