Nice junker. I saw way too many of those growing up,lol You need a few car parts thrown inside. The back of the wagons were great for parts storage. AzTom

west coast precision diecast pro street - 1
AzTom replied to jerseyjunker1's topic in Diecast Corner
Nice build, I wish I had picked up some of those WCP cars when they were selling the defective ones. I have a few good ones but don't want to tear them up, not yet anyway, lol AzTom -
Very nice! All of your cars look nice, you have some great modeling skills. Tom

Congratulations to all of you that have quit. God bless all of you that are trying. I have been smoke free for about 20 years now, after 20+ years of smoking more than a pack a day. I quit cold turkey, I kept ice water handy and when I had the urge to smoke I would drink the water. I think it actually helped clean it out of my system. I get a lot of guys looking to sell their collections and the first thing I ask is "Are they from a smoke free home", I want nothing to do with them if they are not. Hang in there, You Can Do It!

That's cool, I may have to get one of these. I built one years ago but have no idea what happened to it. I do still have the box and a few pieces from it.

They look like the decor stuff you find at stores like Hobby Lobby, usually under $20.00 for the large 16 in ones and less for the smaller ones.

Cool, I'll have to research the Revell truck, was not aware of it. Here are some photos of my International..

Worked on the fifth wheel today. Cleaned off the rust and removed the latch, spot welded a new release arm on and riveted it back together. The arm is the belt clip off of a Sheffield box cutter type knife. You Never throw anything away

1/43 MPC Dodge A-100 Van & Pickup
AzTom replied to Casey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This is so cool, love the 1/43. You are doing a great job on this. I was looking at getting one of the Zingers for the 1/20 engine to use on another project, now I have decided that the Dodge van is the one. I have several 1/43 diecast, should be able to rob a chassis from something. Thanks for Sharing. -

Digital camera download question
AzTom replied to crazyjim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Since digital first came out I've had Olympus, Sony and a few Canons. I have tried the download cords and software that came with them but nothing is easier than removing the memory card and placing it in the appropriate computer slot, or Card reader. Then just drag and drop to the folder you want them in. As for cameras, I love the new Canon I got a few months ago http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=CNPSA3400ISK It has a touch screen shutter release so you don't need to be holding the camera when it takes the photo. You can also touch screen the area you want the camera to focus on, great for under hood and interior shots. Regardless what you buy, do share the pictures -
Thanks Now comes the never ending hours of getting an old high mileage truck smoothed out. I'm not going to go all out detailing this one. I like to keep most of the original look of the old toys so they have the aged feel about them. That said, I am going to add some simple mirrors to the truck.

If that is the 1/18 car by Universal Hobbies, I have that same car, as well a few of them in others colors. I also have the coupe but it is a hardtop stuck on the convertible model. Someday I'm going to strip it and putty in all the seams. Nice model for the money.

Cool! Those dog dishes DO need to be "Dog Dish" hub caps. The Chevy truck caps are the best, they are 2+ inches deep and flat on the bottom.

Gassers! 55 chev, 41 willys & 33 Willys
AzTom replied to damop6v8's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Welcome! Gassers, My favorite. These are some great ones, nice builds. You sure have some BIG spiders over there -
The ends of the diecast bumper were broken off so I cleaned up the break and made a new brass bumper. I'm using 4 - 1-72 hex head screws to mount it to the truck. I plan to BMF the bumper then do the bolts after installed.

matching factory colors for a GTO judge
AzTom replied to foxbat426's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cameo white is a bright white white, if that makes sense. Wimbledon is a off colored white used on Fords. -
Thank You Everyone! I'll post the build of 55 Chevy Delivery next. This was the first time I had used and was very pleased with how smooth it went on and it dried fast.

OH My! Who woulda thunk of a BMW Rat Rod I will say very well executed.

I use all types of saws, depending on the cut. I have regular hack saws, jewelers saw, coping saw and many files in all shapes. I also have a Dremel and a Roto-Zip. The Roto-Zip is like a Dremel on steroids and I would highly recommend one if you're doing a lot of cutting. As for the Carbide bits being ruined, I would guess running too fast as Art said. Running too fast will clog up the bit in a hurry. almost melting the zinc to it. I can not remember running into the "this part is held by this part, which is in turn held in by THIS part" ordeal, but I may have just looked at it as part of the build??? AzTom

Some of these are just too cool. I can see myself getting into these, partly because I grew up building our real cars from the junk yard, using what ever you had available. I also like the idea of cleaning out the parts boxes. Keep them coming. That 41 Chevy is not far from my brothers truck from the early 60.s
