  1. Looking great, really like the WW on Cragars. Did the "UP TOP" come with this kit? AzTom
  2. You are welcome. I have many more if you need them. I forgot your question on the engine. It would be a flat head four cylinder, same as the Willys Jeep. Someone makes a Photo etched grill for the 41. Tom
  3. Nice looking model. Is that an early Olds engine? AzTom
  4. I think this kit is like many of the real Gasser were, 1940 body with the 41 fiberglass nose. The top of the fenders should not be pointed, they should be rounded off. Here is a stock 41/42 pickup and an original 40 Willys Brochure. Someone make the 40 willys body in resin. The grill is actually in two parts and the bar in in the center is part of the body. I have detailed photos of a real 40 grill here along with other photos. http://public.fotki.com/aztom/real-cars-1/detail-photos/page2.html AzTom
  5. Awesome paint job.
  6. Nice build.
  7. Love theses Gassers, great color. That's the 54 grill.
  8. That is thinking outside the box. Too Cool!
  9. Does anyone know who makes the Airbrush City airbrushes? Has anyone used them or know if they are any good? Thanks, Tom
  10. I like the standard 1/8 glass idea the best, but if you go to a hardware type store it's going to have a sharp edge. So, after you get the shelves cut, go to the auto parts store and pick some of that chrome door edge trim and place over the front edge of the shelf. The chrome and black should look great. The glass shouldn't affect the tires as some finishes can and it will allow light through to eliminate dark spots. Tom
  11. They look great. I'm guessing, are these Hot Wheels?
  12. Nice car. Ertl did a great job on these although they missed the side body contour by a lot. Steve, if it matters the Silver one has a cheaper door hinge, more of the dog leg type.
  13. Very Nice! Those door hinges are a work of art. Thanks for sharing, Tom
  14. Great job making that look real. Tom
  15. WOW! That turned out nice. I bought the Vega but haven't started it yet. Tom
  16. I was just ready to post about old paint. I have spay paints and bottle paints that are at least 12 years old and are just fine, some even being stored in uncontrolled climate. Now, here's the issue I ran into a few weeks ago. I bought a bunch of the Model Masters Lacquer about 5 years ago and it have been in a spare bedroom since new. I'm talking about 60 spray cans, all in two cartons with the three pack sleeve still on them. The cans are leaking! I counted about 15 cans that are like that. Has anyone else had this issue with Testors paint? AzTom
  17. Jake, Look for a pin stripe tape made by Line-O-Lot, available in better hobby stores and on line at http://www.lineotape.com/products.asp Tom
  18. Nice conversion Jake. The CHP car was done in 1/26 scale. Hosted on Fotki Mira made a black & white 1/18 several years ago but I don't remember if it was an actual CHP car.
  19. Very Nice!
  20. Not my kind of wheels but the paint on that looks awesome. What scale is this and who made it? I had a real 1956 and want to make a replica of it someday. AzTom
  21. I think I saw this before, Great job. Thanks for sharing it here.
  22. You are great at making junkers! They look so real. Keep them coming,
  23. Junkman, you have that correct, and thanks. For the most part, especially 50's more common toys like this Hubley, that are in poor condition will only get better if done nicely. The bottom line is, collectors want something that looks good sitting on the shelf.
  24. Thanks for posting this one. I have a few of these put away to try the BMF on. It is amazing how you made this low end diecast come to life. AzTom
  25. I'm with you on this one, Never liked the "All wheel - no tire" look. Nice build though.
