2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Ryan S. replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
I just got a semi truck trailer and have been trying to think it I could use it or not and I think I might convert it into some sort or hideout/ bunker and build a diorama with the other 2 vehicles I have planned. Not sure if I'll go that way yet, but could be cool. Still a ways off if I do it, but I like the idea... -

They might be. They're semi hollow on the other side with a small raised post in each of the circular parts. -

Some closer pictures for your enjoyment. I was able to determine that some parts are from AMT #2345 These parts: These all seem like they might be from the same kit, but not sure. The chrome sprue tree has the numbers 1727-5 on it, but despite some searching I couldn't find a kit match: and these don't seem to match the others: Thanks for the help on this, it'll be nice to know where these all came from! Cheers. -

I'll have to look to see. That whole octagonal tree is a blower assembly. I'll see if there's kit numbers molded into it. -

Thanks guys. I'll get some closer-up pictures tomorrow that will show all this stuff more clearly. -
Hi all, I got the parts below as extras in any open box kit. Sorry the picture is a little far away but can anyone point me in the direction of which kit(s) these might be from. If needed, I'll get some closer shots up tomorrow. Thanks!

Found these while browsing a antique and consignment shop. The boxes were a mess but it looks to be original issue. $9.00 for the '25 T and he through in the trailers for free. As far as I can tell the T is complete and it had a bunch of extra stuff in it. A full set of Cragers and a bunch of parts for what looks like a 60's Chevy, though I have no idea what kit (anyone?). The trailers aren't as complete. No amber clear parts for either but aside from that I think all of the Fruehauf Van is there. The Watkins with the reefer unit is missing some rims and the suspension pieces but the reefer parts seem to be there. There's also some damage to the plastic where the tires had melted some of it. Mostly superficial and on areas that could be fixed. Not sure what I'll do with these though. Extra parts to identify.

I love it. These old Ford trucks look great in Suede paint and the green is perfect. -

You're off to a nice start! What are those wheels from? They're pretty sweet. -

Thanks for the info on all those! Here's one more this weekend in Alameda on the 13th: The Park Street Classic Car Show features over 400 vehicles on display in Alameda’s historic downtown district. It is one of the best carshows in the San Francisco East Bay Area. The one-day event takes place the second Saturday in October. This year's car show is October 13, 2012. 10am- 4pm -
Turned out awesome!

I don't love the actual car this is representing, but I see a lot of cool parts and a base to build some cool models on. I'll probably pick up one or two of these. So far all the pictures show some very nice parts- to my eyes. -
where to find 1/25 brake calipers
Ryan S. replied to Ryan S.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Perfect, that did the trick. Thanks Gabriel! -
I'm looking for some 1/25 disk brake calipers. I don't really need the brake disks. I've looked around and I can't seem to find any. Does anyone know if there is a caster out there that offers something like this in resin? Thanks for any direction!

I voted real, but I think the background is photoshopped.

Very nice, I love it in purple. Nice touch on the hood and trunk hinges. Very cool.

Beautiful work on the bed, I can't wait to see more of this build. -
I've never seen this paint scheme, but great job on the car! It looks the part. I'm curious about the fade as well, is it in the decal or did you paint the orange to white? Regardess it looks real good.

The Michaels stores around here carry a lot of the Krylon sprays too. I've never seen them at our Home Depots, just Rustoleum. I've normally bought them at Wal-Mart.

organizing your spare parts
Ryan S. replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Pretty much the same way I do mine. I have a couple of flat organizer boxes with moveable spacers that I have wheels/tires and engine parts in. I have engine parts organized by type of part, heads/ valve covers, carbs, intakes etc. Makes it easy to find parts. I also have some small plastic boxes for interior parts, exterior parts, chassis parts etc. I do keep complete sets together and marked in small boxes or bags ie, complete engines. All this makes it much easier to find parts when looking for them.
