Having just painted a Firefighter Mustang kit and dealing with the bleed thru of the red plastic I was wondering how you guys deal with it? Tried something new this time........ I layed a coat of future on the car before priming it with limited success.
Just curious as to how others are solving this problem?

Kris Morgans distributers are the best pre wired I have used. I tried Arrowhead's before, it took 9 months to get them and I thought they were way to big and lacked the sharp detail on the caps.
Started this almost 2 years ago, about halfway thru the build my interest drifted to other projects and this one sat. Finally got it out again and finished it this week. Its a johan kit with Slixx decals and the engine bay out of a Monogram Mustang.
Thanks for looking,

A friend of mine who is a Chevy guy challenged me to build what Chevy I would have if I had to drive one.
OK, if I owned a Chevy this would be it............

This one is coming along much faster than the usual for me. I think it may be ready for next weekends INDY show. Its lowered and has Magnum 500 rims. I dont think I have ever seen a car that doesnt look good with Magnums! Spent about 2 hours opening up the grill and being a black car you can hardly even tell. I think I am going to redo the heater hoses, i've decided they would look better with braided hose to match the ones on the radiator.
Thanks for looking,

Best thing I have found is Plasticote "cast iron" paint from the auto parts store. It covers in one coat, dries quick, wont rub off and best of all it looks like cast iron. It cost about 6 bucks and one can lasts me about a year.

Great start on one of the baddest rides ever built. I like how you went with the natural tones instead of the chrome for the air box.
Thunderbolts were made near me and I remember my dad pointing them out as we saw one or two being "tested" on the road. I was too young then to really understand just what was I seeing but I will always remember that rumble they made.
Interesting to note that according to a Ford book I have there was one 1965 Thunderbolt built.
Looking forward to seeing this build come along,

Thanx Raul, yes they would make quite a site running down the quarter mile together wouldnt they?
Did you use the model king chassis with yours? If so how did you deal with the open areas? I basically just built some filler panels with sheet styrene. Should have some chassis pics up soon.
