    56 Chevy

Nothing fancy here, was going for a clean look. Something you might see at a local cruize. Thanks for looking, Raisin
  3. Thanks Raul, The distributer is from a new company called Morgan Auto Details. Its probably the nicest pre wired distributer I have seen. Raisin
  4. Duplicolor "orange mist" over "chesnut brown". Shaved emblems and B pilar removed, Chrome reverse rims and baby moon caps. This is my first custom and was going for a clean simple look. Raisin
  5. The one I have looks to based off the old AMT Vicky, I ran into no surprises it went together pretty much as any plastic kit. Raisin
  6. Thank you everyone. Yes the printing on the hoses is a decal avalible thru scalemodelingbychris.
  7. Some awfull cool rides in here.........mines probably not everyones cup of tea, but I like it. Shes a 52 Ford Customline with 24,800 original miles (really). She has the 110 horsepower flathead V8 with the rare Fordomatic transmission and other than a set of dual exhaust (dealer installed option) is as stock as the day Henry made her. The 1952 license plate is the original plate that was on the car in 52. Thanks for looking, Raisin
  8. I remember that one!.................I worked the line putting dashboards in the Mark VIII's Monopod. Raisin
  9. Awesome Mustang Rudy! I belong to the downriver club you mentioned. Email me if you like and I can send you any information you might want about it. You would be more than welcome to "sit in" on a meeting. I also belong to a small group of guys that meet in Flint if thats closer for you. Raisin
  10. Finished this one last week. Thanks for looking, Raisin
  11. Thanks Raul, The lettering on the heater hose is a decal from SMBC, and yes all the brightwork on the interior is BMF. Thanks again, Raisin
  12. Havent done a factory stock in awhile so I decided to have a go at the kit I won as a door prize awhile back. A ways to go yet but I think I got a pretty decent start on it. Thanks for looking , Raisin
  13. The Flint Area Auto Modelers held their annual 1 day build this weekend. We all started with unopened Revell 55 Chevys and had about 8 hours to finish. I dont think there were any show winners in the bunch but sure was a lot of fun and a good way to spend a day with some friends. Heres a link to see the individual builds.......... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v19/amaz...%20DAY%20BUILD/
  14. Thanks gbritnell, The resin body was mastered off the Firefighter kit so its very similar. The main differences are the wheel wells being corrected and the hood changed from a stock Mustang design to the Pro Stock version that extends all the way to the windshield allowing for the proper engine set back. These along with a few other minor improvements make it a nice piece to work with. Raisin
  15. Thanks Len, Some of the red is painted, but most of the graphics are from the Slixx decal sheet. Raisin
  16. Finished up the Mustang. Its made from an SMBC resin body and Ford Cleveland motor, chassis is from the Jukebox Ford kit, along with some scratchbuilding and several bits from a Pro Stock Thunderbird kit. Paint is Tamiya with Model Masters clearcoat, and decals are from Slixx. Thanks for looking, Raisin
  17. Johan Pro Stock Maverick kits are still readily avalible on EBAY, but they are rather expensive (usually selling for 50 - 75 bucks ). They have a fantastic engine, the body is very accurate, the interior is decent, but the chassis is pretty basic. Raisin
  18. Well I dont see myself finishing anything else before the new year so this is my Class of 07.............. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v19/amaz...ss%20of%202007/ thanks for looking and merry Christmas everyone! Raisin
  19. Just finished this one for a lady at work. She is giving it to her husband as a Christmas gift, its a replica of his 1/1 scale street rod "The Buttercup Special". Shes a 29 Model A with a 32 chassis and grill. Made from an AMT 29 roadster kit with an R & R sedan body. I had to add the ribs on the roof, scratchbuild the visor, and rear tailight panel, The interior is all flocked. My decal guy didnt finish them in time so I had to hand paint the lettering and flames (not my strongest suit), but I guess it didnt turn out to bad. I hope he likes it, Raisin
  20. Thank you Steve, The biggest thing about painting resin is you must apply a good primer ( I do that with plastic kits too ) because paint wont stick to resin well. Some resins have mold release agent residue which can be removed by soaking in westlys bleech white before shooting the primer. I polish my paint with 3m imperial hand glaze, there are several products out there that you can use though. Raisin
  21. Thanks Raul, Like with most kits I cant seem to leave it just as it comes. I added the accel coil from SMBC, scratchbuilt the radiator shroud. front motor mounting plate, breathers on the valve covers, and added some bits to the interior. Also used headlights from a Revell 32 Ford kit.
  22. Went together pretty well. A few minor issues with the chassis, but certainly no worse than many plastic kits I have built. I suppose the best comment I can make about it is I liked the kit enough that I am building another one! Heres a few more pics. Raisin
  23. There is hope for all of us mortals that arent up to Mr Gearys skills! Hendrix offers several body styles of the 55 Ford, and they really arent bad at all. I did these two awhile back and in additionjh I have a 55 customline, and a Fairlane 2 dr sedan that I havent started on yet. I believe he also offers a station wagon. I dont remember seeing a 2 door hardtop like Bill is doing though. Never saw an R&R before, but from the pic it looks like it has a 56 roof, not a 55. By the way ..........Fantastic work Mr Obsessive! Raisin
  24. I have customized many diecast cars and found that nail polish remover works great for removing the tampo graphics. I dont think it would effect the plastic on a slot car body, but I would try it on a scrap piece first just to be sure, Raisin
