  1. My worst since I started building as an adult was also one of the most fun. Our club used to do an anual 8 hour build. From unopened box to finished model in 8 hours. Its amazing some of the shortcuts you can come up with if you need too!
  2. thats cool......love 58 Fords
  3. My daily driver is an 04 Lincoln Town Car. My toys are ...... 1972 Gran Torino with 351 cleveland that I have had since '84 1960 Ford Starliner, my favorite car. I was finally able to get one a cpl years ago 1952 Ford Customline. 25,000 mile original with flathead V8 and Fordomatic trans. Thanks for looking, Raisin
  4. Virtually all my builds are done with rattle cans. I generally only use my airbrush when I have to custom mix a color or am doing something very intracate. Here are a few................
  5. Really diverse and interesting group of models. Heres my favorite, I built this about 5 years ago and although my skills have improved since then this is still one of my favorites for a few reasons. First I was always a big fan of Dyno Don growing up near the Detroit Dragway.....Second I tried building this car as a kid and failed miserably.....And finally my first ever Best in Show award came with this build. Thanks for looking, Raisin
  6. Generally I dont have a problem with bringing older builds to an event. If shows limited the entries to current builds I doubt there would be very many models to look at. I do however try to avoid entering a model in competition that has won previously at the same show. Raisin
  7. My Starliner has a 352
  8. Nice job, I have built this one as well so I know what a chore it is to apply the decals. I like that you added the inner fenders too. When i did mine I used the inner fenders from a Monogram Mustang kit. once again great job!
  9. I'm gonna be in the area that weekend, Hopefully I can make it to the show Raisin
  10. Thats the one Ive been waiting for! A convertible is a great way to show the beautifully done interiors in these Hudson kits. Just wondering if the fender skirt location has been corrected though? Raisin
  11. To expand on your idea a bit............I also did a little drop on the center of the steering wheel over the decal to simulate the clear plastic cover. Raisin
  12. Thanks............I used Tamiya TS-15 Blue and Model Masters Wimbledon White paint
  13. Nice take on a great kit. Hope you enjoyed building yours as much as i did mine. Raisin
  14. I was just about to suggest this method, but I see someone beat me to it.......Try it it works.
  15. Here is one of the replica Hudson pics I ran across. This one has no side trim but the original B&W pics I found do show the trim in place.
  16. There sure are a lot good ones, but I havent seen my favorites listed............. Thunder Road Lemans Grand Prix American Graffiti
  17. I think you are are refering to the "Lively set" with James Darrin, and Dog Mclure. I liked that one too. Raisin
  18. The spark plug location is my biggest beef with the AMT CAMMERS. On some it has the front plug on the left side going directly into the timing chain.
  19. The Johan CAMMER from the pro stock Maverick kits is one of my favorites, though it too has a few issues. The oil pan doesnt extend forward enough as it stops before the front timing chain cover is probably the biggest. The most accrate cam covers are found in the old Monogram Tarantula kit. The JoHan CAMMER............
  20. Many thanks to everyone, I never expected such a response. Im very glad to be back and looking forward to many more builds. raisin
  21. I am currently building this kit too.............all the pictures I have found online show the car as a light sky blue color. Also at least 2 different die cast versions I have found are light blue as well.
  22. Very nice, a really great build of a kit you rarely see built.
  23. Wow, what a response. Thank you everyone, feels good to be back! Raisin
