  1. Thanks, The boots are made from computer wire insulation and yes, thats why I used aluminum rod so it would be soft enough to flatten the ends.
  2. Completing another of my unfinished models from 2011. Detailing the engine on this Comet Pro Stock. I tried something new, making upper shocks and mounts from crimp beads and aluminum rod. I still say these parts are a lot smaller than they were in 2011!

    Chevy II

Thought a good way to get back into the groove after several years away from the modeling bench was to finish up some of my unfinished builds from back then. Working on this Chevy II now. I cut up some soda cans and tried my hand at doing some tin work.
  4. To me if you have to trailer it then its not a street car. Years ago here in the Detroit area the heavy hitters would go on a little "cruise" before the race to weed out the pure race cars.
  5. Very nice clean looking build. The stance looks spot on.
  6. Applied with a 1/2 wide fine bristle brush. It is self leveling.
  7. Thanks everyone for the welcome back. Was ready to call this one done and then when i took the picture I realized that I totally forgot wheelie bars! Oh well, I will get back in the groove eventually!
  8. It has been a long time hasn't it!
  9. Your persistence is paying off, Thats awesome!
  10. Started this over 10 years ago and dropped out of the hobby when it was about half done. I am retired now and that along with the Covid situation has gotten me back to the modeling bench. My first attempt is to finish this one. Been working on the engine bay and the outside details. I must say these parts are a lot smaller than they were ten years ago!
  11. Thats coming along beautifully. I used the engine bay from a Monogram Mustang when I did mine.
  12. Nice one Chris
  13. Thanks everyone. I actually started this one several years ago and kinda hit a dead end when my promised decal source didnt come through. I ran across these decals at the 2012 Toledo NNL show. Sorry but I dont know the manufacturer. I will try to get some more pics up soon. Thanks again Raisin
  14. What an interesting topic! Here's one that always seemed unappreciated to me. I had so much fun building this one because its such an oddball. Who ever heard of making a street machine from a 4dr Plymouth police car?? Raisin
  15. I think its been a couple years, but I actually finished a model! Thanks for looking, Raisin
  16. I know this is an old post, but as an owner of a 60 Starliner and a big fan of 60 Fords in general I can tell you that the 300 horsepower 352 4 barrel "THUNDERBIRD" engine has a black block and heads with med. Ford blue valve covers and air cleaner. The special 352 c. i. 360 horsepower engine that comes in the kit had black block and heads with gold valve covers and air cleaner. Raisin
  17. 57 Ford 60 Ford
  18. Rare but not unheard of. My 52 Ford Customline just recently turned 25,000 miles this summer and I have all the service records for it since it was new.
  19. When all is said and done all I can say is that I am proud to drive an American car, from an American manufacturer, assembled by American workers. Raisin
  20. Although I wont be able to attend I would recomend this show to anyone that can. I went a couple years ago and think that this is probably the best run show that I have ever attended. Raisin
  21. Thanks for the comments everyone. Raisin
  22. Thanks, for the tires i cut a flat spot off the bottom with an xacto knife, heated the area till it was close to dripping rubber, then pushed it into a flat surface which causes the bottom to bulge out slightly. Raisin
  23. Looks like something that Professor Fate would would drive.........."Press the button Max!"
