Got my July issue yesterday..
meaneyme replied to Terry Sumner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Is this the issue that covers the NNL East show at Wayne? Just wanted to know some of the names from the guys in the forum that had their photos taken. I am just hoping that one day I can make it. -
Thank you for sharing this build with us, certainly apppreciated. One thing I am seeing on this build though is all the mold lines left on some parts, I mean, for a featured build like this on a magazine or a forum, these should be addressed. Sorry for being so picky but why not include these items as part of your instructional project?

I don't know about anybody else man but I think the Alcladed ones look better than the originals. I had a friend who had one of these 1/1 cars and he would polish those rims to a really high luster, these my friend have the perfect look.
-
Wow! Didn't know those things can last so long, I am definitely investing on one of them, thanks!

I am planning on purchasing a CO2 tank, need to be as quiet as possible where I live. How long does the air last on these things? Are they reliable? Anyone here using one?
-
Hey Cruz, there is really no need for so much explanation, I have purchased 2 models from you and we have seen the fantastic work you do around here, we believe you brother. With that said, I have seen some modelers wetsand their metallic paints without covering them with a last color coat or two and have seen great results. I guess there is a way of doing it, probably some people are using a higher grade of sandpaper when doing this?
-
Sorry Cruz, I meant to post on another thread, not this one. Believe me, I would have remembered this awesome build.
-
Cool looking 'pala dude! Color is very cool too.
-
Is this project done?
-
That's a bad looking Impala, have you posted it here before? Would love to see a photo.

What a terrific build Marcos, magazine cover work! Your paint work is always on the mark, this thing is flawless, just looks so real. Now, how the heck did you get that side/rear BMF to look so good? I tried doing mine and got so frustrated that I just put it away, never could get it right. You really set the bar way high on this gorgeous build man.
-
You did a terrific job on this my friend, the colors blend very well on this model.
-
Yes Edward, that was Marcos Cruz, I remember him posting this little tutorial on here once and luckily I found it, great stuff for replicating vinyl rooftops! Check out the link below. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27431

WOW! What a great idea, simple but effective, I will go to Michael's tonight and purchase me some of these pastes. Where do you buy the pastels? Does Michael's also have them? Any specific brand?
-
Cool stance and color, clean too.
-
Very cool. What paint did you use? Does it have a clear coat? The black and green really does go well together!
-
Those Metalizer paints surely play a big roll here with the overall contrasting look on that chassis. I have a lot of people telling me about the little time they spend detailing the bottom of their models because as they say, "it's the last thing people really look at", I think they're wrong, lots of eye candy when you do it right.

Was the original question or post about the guys here in this forum or was the question in general? I thought it was about the talent in this forum.
-
I am relatively new to this forum also and I do have my own favorites. I would also go with Bill Geary and Bob Downie, I think their talents are just phenomenal. I also like another modeler in this forum that has been a big help and of course, who I think builds and paints beautiful models and that is Marcos Cruz, always there when I need him. I have also seen the work of Tom Kren and Peter Lombardo, they also do fantastic work.
-
Very nice choice Cruz, I am sure you will do great with this build. Keep us posted.

I am voting for the '72 Hurst Olds, the engine and chassis detail are very well done, looks like a real car if photographed with the right background. Interior is gorgeous also, I love what he did with the panel lines all around considering that it's a white car, they just look perfect.

Mini's Johan cutlass vs newage donk trend !
meaneyme replied to David@MinidreamsInc.'s topic in Model Cars
Hi Jeff, I think you totally misunderstood what Cruz was trying to say, at no time I thought he was talking about your maturity level or what your comments about maturity are. To my understanding, what he meant to say was that you take your critism like a man and not like a whinning little girl. Just keep building what you like, not what others do and understand that this subject is always going to create controversy, then again, you already knew that By the way, great job, even though I hate donks! -
Whatever happened with this, no one else competing or adding to the subject?
-
Hey guys, after checking this out in the computer, I can't seem to find one at a fair or good price. Any ideas on prices or where to get an inexpensive one? Can I get something like this in Lowe's or Home Depot? I am trying to build a spray booth and need info on this.

Catalina interior colors
meaneyme replied to meaneyme's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, let me see, I don't recall putting a gun to your head so that you can take valuable time off to get me an answer Obviuosly, you didn't have anything to do when you responded to the question. Also, I was looking for more ideas and input from several people since a lot of these pictures are actual restored cars with incorrect colors most of the time. I have exactly those same pictures stored in my Fotki photo album also, so, as you can see, I am pretty resourceful..... What IS there about people being so rude in reference to getting a question answered.
