    '59 Caddy!!!!

What else can we say Cruz, magazine cover quality. Can you post some pictures of the engine? Interior shot looks awesome with the little hanging keychain, awesome work man!
  2. Very nicely done, love the colors.
  3. I love the color, really goes together with this car. Is the roof painted also?
  4. Pretty cool man, different but cool.
  5. Try acetone, works for me.
  6. After seeing how awesome that Charger turned out, I went out to Michael's this morning and purchased 2 cans of this thing, I will be trying this system soon. Thanks a lot, not only for recommending this system but also for the time taken to show it with pictures!
  7. That's looking great Cruz, do you use Testor's Metalizer paints for your parts? I have to buy some of that stuff, I hear it's good stuff.
  8. It's not a matter of how many people have signed your guest list or how many people like your work, surely you have a big following and I respect that, this is merely an observation on my part. I will give you an example using one of your models posted in this month's Scale Auto Magazine. By the way, congratulations! If you look at your GTO, I personally think that the body moldings around the wheels are way too thick, again, this is just an observation. I think that if you scribe them beforehand, it will be easier to follow them with the x-acto knife. I remember another modeler here in the forum posting a GTO recently and thought that he did a great job on his. Also, when you look at the picture taken from the rear, it's missing the chrome molding just at the end of the trunk and above the rear lights. I am also seeing that the paint is pretty thick in that area also, can't even see the line. Another observation is the molding on the side of the '41 Willys, I thought it was a little too thick. Again, this is the main reason I stopped using enamels, I just find them way too thick and a lot of times it just looks like someone just dumped the body straight into the paint and hung it up to dry. I have seen you website and found it to be very educational, you have some wonderful models and I congratulate you for being an important part of the hobby. Having said this, please don't misunderstand my point here.
  9. The thing with Donn is that he pours way too much paint at one time on his models, that's why, if you look closely, his cars have a shiny look but most details are ommited, it's the reason I stopped using the Testors enamels. I like to keep all the small details on my models, I don't want them to look toyish with all that clear.
  10. Cruz, your GTO was flawless, was there a GTO competition?
  11. This is really beautiful, wish I could see some more detailed panel lines but it is gorgeous.

    Grand Sport

Your hard work on the details paid off, it's just perfect.
  13. AAAAAHHHHHHHH! Perfection! The color is just awesome and the Bare Metal Foil work is perfect.
  14. I vote for the Starliner, I mean, I like the Mercedes but the Starliner is really special, everything from the stance, to the white walls and the paint is just perfect, not to mention the BMF, I bought this kit and the lines for all the molding of the BMF are not even there yet he made these look good.
  15. Congratulations my friend, action always speaks louder than words, you have planted the seed and now is just a matter of growth. We need to get more youngsters involved in this hobby, I know it's not easy but we must find ways of doing so. Nice story and even better models, the kid is really good.
  16. Please, don't mess this forum up by bringing that stuff here, there are lots of forums out there for that, just doesn't make any kind of sense to even ask that question, sorry, just my 2 cents.
  17. I don't know Cruz, everyone keeps talking about the Starliner but that GTO is just awesome, that thing looks too real to me. These are some awesome builds, your painting skills are just out of this world. Tutorial anyone?
  18. There's only one thing I can't believe, did it really take him 46 years to develop this system? I don't think it takes more than 1 for a real car.
  19. I also joined recently and there is a great amount of talent here, you will see that help is just around the corner. I am really enjoying a post by Bill Geary on the basics of model building, very helpful and highly recommended. I also like other modelers here who usually post their work in progress with all the details, some of my favorites are Marcos Cruz, Tom Kren, Lyle Willits and several others, these guys really know their stuff. I am sure you will like it here.
  20. Last set of pictures really show how nicely done this is even though I didn't see much difference when it came to the color. Yes, that last photo absolutely looks like the real thing. What I like the most is the way you bare metal foiled around the wheel openings, looks very much to scale, a lot of people don't do this right. How the heck do you do this?
  21. I swear to you, I was drinking coffee and after seeing this, with the outburst, it just came right out through my nose.
  22. Thanks for the pictures, they always say a thousand words. Bob, have you considered putting the whole body together and then painting it? Knowing how talented you are, is it really a better idea painting all panels separately? Can you explain your reasons for your decision if you were to paint the panels or body parts separately?
  23. If this thing comes out half as good as your recently completed GTO, I will surely follow your WIP. I am definitely buying at least 2 of these, it's one of my favorite cars of that era. Just tell me the price when you're done, I will make my usual arrangements to snatch it away from you!
  24. Oh man, the best GTO build I have ever seen, a truly amazing model. Love the redline tires, they absolutely look much better than the ones in the kit. This thing screams "Magazine Cover Car". What shade of white did you use for the interior? It seems to have the correct shade and sheen from the era. I also loved the little key chain you placed on the console, nice touch, did it come with the photo etch kit?
  25. Now, why didn't I think of that? The simplest things are always the best.
