I am kinda tired of seeing these skimpy and ugly tires on these new kits, specially the Revell brand. Anyone out there in the aftermarket world selling better ones, either resin or vinyl?
What base color did you use to get that pearl to look so good man? I have been told to use white but still can't seem to make it look this good, I mean, you can truly see the pearlish look on this car. How many coats of pearl white does it have? Did you airbrush it?
Come on brother, just because she chose the color doesn't mean she painted it and built it, that one ain't gonna fly. It's good to have a daddy that can build.....
The idea is not to create controversy, definitely not the intention here, I myself am not the greatest model builder but it is pretty basic to see that a metallic paint under the sun at this scale looks pretty bad. Compare pictures under a cloudy day vs a sunny day and you will see how much better the ones under the cloudy days will look.
Had a chance to see the article in the mag and it was very informative, thank you very much for sharing it with us. Harry is absolutely right about the panel line work you do for your builds, really makes this one stand out. I am still working on perfecting my skills with the panel lines but one thing you said that makes sense is how lightly you should scribe at the beginning. The red on red looks great and the contrasting of the colors really work even if they are the same and this is what makes it more challenging but you make it look easy. Can't wait to see what you will come up with next.
This turned out so cool, the model just screams vintage all right. To tell you the truth, it actually looks better without the decals. The interior work you put into this kit is gorgeous, this thing belongs in the cover of the mag!
I love everything about it man but the paint is just out of this world man. I just purchased the Micro Mesh set of polishing films, is that the one you own?
I was reading some old mags last night and thought about asking this question here. There are lots of cool looking covers and I do have a few favorites myself but I would like to ask, if you were to pick your favorite, which one would it be?
Gotta say the article on the Willys you wrote on paint is helping me out a lot, I have learned a few neat tricks just by reading it. I am amazed at how well the BMF looks on this build, looks real shiny and clean. What paint do you use for the black around the windows? The rear one turned out so good. Definitely would make another great cover shot for the mag!
Awesome engine work man. How did you do the small stubs holding the gas lines on the firewall? What did you use for the actual gas lines? Did you paint the gas lines in that color or do you get them like that? Where? Sorry for all the questions.
