  1. That's definetly different Chuck. I can't say that I am crazy about it but I don't hate it either. The headlights give it a new personality. oldscool
  2. I love dune buggies too! Is that an Empi Imp or a Meyers Manx? I could never tell them apart. Nice paint oldscool

Absolutely fantastic job! Looks just like the real thing. oldscool
  4. Finally got back to this one. Painted the window trim and isn't as sloppy as it looks in the pics. The slicks are a perfect match for the fender cutouts and the wheels give it that "all business" look. Now I'm working up the nerve to paint the side trim. This thing is really going to sit high. oldscool
  5. I know that I have only posted pics of the painted body so far but it really looks better in the sun. Next update will be engine pics. oldscool
  6. For someone that's not a rivet counter, you are doing some very nice detailing! please keep posting. oldscool
  7. I have no idea what those parts are either As for the back bumper-since I'm building the full race version it doesn't get a back bumper and I haven't tried to test fit it. oldscool
  8. those wheels and tires work really well on that truck. And nice paint too oldscool
  9. I like this one also. Great work! oldscool
  10. Hey Brian, I like your color combination. I learned to never try to use the last bit from a spray can except on small parts. When the can gets near empty I just throw it away. Don't give up. oldscool
  11. Yours looks really good Mark Got the decals on and they weren't as bad as I thought they might be. The stripes settled down well after using some Microset and Microsol. I pulled a bonehead move and glued the gas filler plate on before I put the stripes on and had to try to trim around the plate. It looks a little ragged but I will touch it up with some white paint before I add the last clear coat. The tire decals also turned out real well and the tires were dullcoated after the decals dried. oldscool
  12. Another stunner from crankys workshop. oldscool
  13. Those engines look great! I like the watch gears on the pulleys and the upholstery. And I didn't sand the letters off of mine either. oldscool
  14. That's a fantastic model of a fantastic car. And the what a paint job! I always loved both of the Campbells LSR cars. oldscool
  15. Philo, Ed and George those are all great builds! I like the fact that you went with the traditional Cragars George. Sorry Ed but I am just not a fan of big diameter wheels except on modern vehicles. As for the decals - my way of looking at it is what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I'm thinking of going with a white bed cover to fit the 50s - early 60s vibe of the paint job. oldscool
  16. I was thinking white also Dave. Think I'm gonna use the steelies from the Revell 29 Ford pickup complete with caps and trim rings. Gonna paint the white walls with Humbrol satin white as it has a slight off white tint to it. It also looks great for the off white "parchment" interiors that Mopar muscle cars came with. oldscool
  17. Thanks Dave for the tip on the holes for the hinges.I will block them off. Not sure about the wheel color as red seems to be so common these days. I may do them with some of the Testors Root Beer laquer along with the dash - whaddaya think? oldscool
  18. Thanks for the comments everybody. As far as fit issues go, I did a lot of test fitting before painting and found no fit issues other than gaps where the front fenders meet the cab at the bottom. I will add some shims between the interior side panels and the cab to push the cab sides out a little and tighten up the gaps. Also, anyone who has built this kit knows that the hood is a loose fit but this is poor engineering on Revells part. oldscool
  19. You can also get a 351C from the Revell 70 Mach I kit but it is all stock except for finned valve covers. I built the Monroe mustang kit back in the day and thought it looked good on the shelf. oldscool
  20. nice one. Very smoooooth oldscool
  21. That looks great! Perfect paint and trim work. oldscool
  22. I like this one alot oldscool
  23. Thanks cranky. I was getting bogged down with the red oxide bomb so decided to go back to this one for awhile. Next step is the engine. I swapped the Ardun parts for the flathead parts from the 32 sedan kit. I know you don't like building engines but they are my favorite part of a build. I have 10 kits in the stash with nothing done but the engines LOL. oldscool
  24. After a nerve wracking decal session, this is where it stands. All it needs is a couple of gloss coats and the running boards painted black. I left off the door scallops as I thought it looked too busy with any more scallops on it. I'm really getting fired up over this one. This is one of my best paint jobs ever. oldscool
  25. Got the interior done and started detail painting the dash. Looks like I got to touch up some boo- boos on the dash. The shifter came from the MPC 70 Super Bee kit. Not worried about the ejector pin marks on the floor as they won't show when it's done. It's gettin there. oldscool
