  1. Nice work so far. Where did you get the Caddy air cleaner? gus
  2. That looks excellent for your first chop. Nice truck. gus
  3. It looks very good to me. Nice job . gus
  4. Walt's idea is a good one. White glue doesn't penetrate the plastic so you can just pop the parts loose and any excess will peel off. gus
  5. Almost finished now. It just needs some underhood details added. Big engine - little car: Fiberglass bumper: Next pics will be in Underglass and judging from the lack of response everyone will be glad to quit seeing it . gus

    Ford-49

    I think so too. gus
  7. It's an excellent kit from recent tooling. Well detailed and engineered. Highly recommended gus
  8. These are some great kits aren't they. They build easy and all the parts line up every time. Yours is looking good. gus
  9. That is really, really nice! gus
  10. Slowly plugging away at this one. It's now foiled, clear coated and hood and grille are detailed. Had to strip and redo the clear on the rear panel between the tail lights. As soon as it gets dry I can install it and glue body and chassis together. It's getting there. gus
  11. Nice work so far. Is this a Revell Germany kit? I'm not a big fan of modern styling but this is one cool looking car. gus
  12. I built the last release of this kit and the differences I can see from the pics in this thread are: 1. no up top 2. different wheels 3.scoop on hood 4. only one carb with an airbox to seal it to the hood 5. tires in my kit are the well known "big and littles" that come in the 32 Ford kits 6. valve covers are the finned Cobra type gus
  13. This is looking really good . gus
  14. I'll give that a try and here is a pic of the other side with door handle done and black detail in side trim done with fine point Sharpie. gus
  15. I knew it was considered a difficult one to do but it's not a great kit nor is it one of my better builds so I figured if I screw it up then not much lost. gus
  16. Outstanding! gus
  17. Beautiful job . gus
  18. If it can't be easily seen I don't worry about it. gus
  19. This one has always bugged me too Harry. gus
  20. That IS a great looking Olds . gus
  21. I noticed the wheels too. I like the way you represented the little wheel bearing cup in the center hole of the fronts. Don't recall ever seeing this done on scale Torq Thrusts. gus
  22. You just keep knocking me out! That looks absolutely real. gus
  23. Here's the 56 Belair that I posted a few months ago and in the post I stated that I wasn't even going to attempt to hand paint the side trim. Well I got some BMF from model roundup and gave it a shot. It's really not difficult just tedious. Like picking the fly poop out of pepper . You can see the knife slip above the front wheel opening but over all I am happy with it. If an old nervous hack like me can do it, anybody can. gus
  24. That true Blue pearl is a great color isn't it. Just wish it came in laquer. I have an RS grille I can send you if you think you can remove yours without messing up your model. gus
  25. I would like to thank everyone for the compliments on my tutorial. I posted this after deciding to stop trying to be witty and just post something useful to the rest of the community. If I have inspired anyone or if this helps to make someones build better then I feel like I have contributed something good. gus
