  1. Worked on the engine.............
  2. Worked on the engine......................... ALCLAD metal application...
  3. "During the 60's, AMT had a metallic lacquer called "Orchid Silk". I remember that AMT lacquer....I painted a Revell Road Agent with that when it came out.....like to try your formula.
  4. If you know anything about rock guitar...you know who this is. Builder of 1:1 hot rods......and car models Here with his Lil Coffin, Outlaw and Tweedy Pie, among others. (I'd post guitarist Eric Clapton and his car models ....but I don't know if he built 1:1) Here he talks abut his 1:1 builds, inc. his ful size replica Milner 5W Coupe (after he lost the bid on the real car): (9) Jeff Beck --Music and Cars Part 1 - YouTube (9) Jeff Beck Music and Cars Part 2 - YouTube
  5. That looks good,. Like REALLY GOOD!
  6. Did you notice how many times "Steve Scott of Hawaii" appears in the list of people who pre ordered? ON THE LIST OVER 75 TIMES. Think he is going to be disappointed....... LOL
  7. Made some tubular shocks for the front axle out of aluminum tubing. Polished up pretty good with the LMG kit.
  8. Thanks. I did a tape together mock up to check things over. The steelie wheels have trim rings installed, will get chrome baby moons.Engine has exhaust system in ALCLAD, but needs all the hop up parts.Chassis needs some detailing, tie rods and drag link. The interior needs dash board, gauges and steering column.Windshield frame is chromed, as are headlight brackets. Think I've sourced some vintage tear drop tail lights. Think I see light at the end of the tunnel, might get this one done.
  9. Finally got enough white base coat on the seats to apply a final pearl finish - and then masked off the seats to paint pleated inserts black.
  10. Thanks guys. Worked on the salt flat wheels discs, glued on Grandt line bolts and applied ALCLAD Aluminum.
  11. Beautiful job on this.
  12. Thanks Bernard....you set the bar high. I had some nice weather (70 + degrees, low humidity) so I shot some paint (Tamiya red X-7 thinned and airbrushed) on the body shell and ALCLAD on parts. Have to redo the red paint on the frame as some pencil marks on the white primer frame bled thru the red.....
  13. Probably was grumpy ......if the demeanor as portrayed in the show was accurate. Didn't the "new" wife (not the old wife bookkeeper) demand that cute girl mechanic Liz Miles get fired? ...this was classic: (21) Boyd Coddington Bluebear at Boyd Coddington gets fired - YouTube ...and Duane was the worst: (21) Boyd Coddington mike curtis gets fired at Boyd Coddington - YouTube
  14. Anyone remember Boyd Coddington's show? I have to believe that was scripted for dramatic effect .....as I can only hope the main characters were not the A'holes they appeared to be.
  15. Alan, Yes...I have that issue....August 1994, a good issue to get if you all are interested in this car (also has Larry Booth' incredible '57 T bird, Doug Whyte's '53 Syling Stude, and a how to photo etch article). This was an excellent scale model of the 22 Jr. by Martyn Faistnauer, with details of the build. That was an inspiration for me, although it also kind of sent me in a different path as he has built the definitive replica...and way beyond my skill level. I'd like to have a look at your tonneau cover - If you can get a private message we can arrange something.
  16. Thank you Rusty and Dave ....sometimes scratch building is the only way to get what you need.
  17. Thanks Ace....good thing I haven't glued anything yet.
  18. Now I have to figure out how to fit the center port valve covers w/o hitting the blower. Need to get another front port valve cover.
  19. I'm not sure I even remember how I even did it. I did one half...made the two sides cast from Alumalite in an RTV MOLD. Was back in 1998 IIRC. I had just gotten into car models....wanted an Italmechannica or SCOT.....even if I had to make one
  20. Thanks for looking everyone. I think I'll just go with what I have...I need to start burning down that stash pile...and use these parts.
  21. Very nice!
  22. Couldn't do it again if I tried
  23. What engine do you have in mind?
