  1. X2, other than the big block and disc brakes it's perfect. The 62 and earlier cars are altogether different.
  2. All good except the wheels. The Love bug was a 63 VW, so this kit should be too. VW did not go to 4 lug wheels until 1968, so this kit should use 5 lug wheels, although they were the big "wide five" pattern like some mid 30's Fords. The custom wheels pictured above look to be a set of EMPI 5 spokes and a set of BRM's, both are great choices for a Cal Look bug.
  3. I've owned GM. Ford and Chrysler products along with several different imports, and my best and most reliable cars were GM products.
  4. I get by without them just fine every day.
  5. That rear 3/4 view looks a lot like a mid 70's Toyota Celica GT, the car that at that time was called the Japanese Mustang!
  6. Power cup holders, how did we ever get by without them?
  7. That did happen twice in the last fifteen years that I know of. One reporter won a prize for his work even tho it was proven a falsehood and retracted.
  8. First let me state that I am a motorcycle rider of 40 plus years, so I'm far from anti motorcycle. But I just saw a man I'd guess about 30 years old riding in shorts and T shirt, helmet-less and flip-flops. If that weren't bad enough he had a child of what looked to be about 4 or 5, dressed the same but with a full sized adult helmet on, riding on the gas tank. This was not on a small neighborhood street but a full blown 4 lane state highway!
  9. My 1988 Escort was recalled for that very problem, bad ignition switches catching fire.
  10. Unfortunately a start button. Sorry, I thought I was still on the other recall thread.
  11. I haven't had any problems with my Chevys, but then I don't have 5 pounds of junk hanging from my key ring which is what I've been told is the real problem. But then again maybe they could have left the switch on the steering column where it worked fine for decades.
  12. Subject matter, You'd be a fool to buy a resin kit if you could buy the same thing in plastic.
  13. My 8 year old Harley (that I can use about 5 months a year) just cost me $135.
  14. If you are referring to me I mentioned no party, no politician by name nor did I say anything about how taxes are spent. Complaining about high taxes is as American as a Baseball game on the 4'th of July. It's how this country started.
  15. One is an old ironhead sportster I built from a basket case 25 years ago, and I inherited one when my best friend died. The other took me 25 years to get, and 7 years to pay for.
  16. The problem is paying for it.
  17. OK, so Saturday is the due date for my license plates (metal tax receipt) which are way too expensive here in Indiana and then here in my county we get a county greed (wheel) tax added to make it worse. So let's say I'm beyond broke. So now the garage door spring breaks trapping my Manx and all three Harleys inside. And of course the weekend forecast is beautiful.
  18. The IRS only collects the tax money, the widespread ineptness and rampant corruption comes from our leaders.
  19. But the news says the recovery is doing great?
  20. I'm not sure what the terms were but a few months ago I sent a $15 kit to England and it cost me $25 to do it, no speed delivery, no insurance, no ect.....
  21. Yep! 25 years in and they have a 30 year retirement program.
  22. All of the new laws to "Help" us. Just found out my wife will be loosing her job around September because of cutbacks due the the new health car law. And because our health insurance is through her employer we will loose that too. What great help!
  23. These are the reasons I hate new cars.
  24. R&R did a 1/25 69 GTO vert.
  25. Groovy seems to be the only proper response!
