  1. "Strength Through Joy Car" was the Volkswagen beetle's pre-war name.
  2. It looks ALOT like the old Revell kit from about 1958, the one that got butchered into the skaters van. Better detailing thoe.
  3. A very short car chase I liked, The Police officers in the cop car ( with the chain on the rear axle) chasing the Pharaohs, in American Graffiti.
  4. Very nice!
  5. Speaking of the Batmobile which resin caster will be the first with a Futura conversion kit?
  6. Welcome! I'm new here too but this bunch will make it seem like home for you real quick. Lots of us old SA guys here.
  7. Dont forget the Polar lights Herbie kit, a nice 40 horse for a snap kit. The Manx engine is a 36 horse, we really need a good resin 1600 DP for buggy and curbside bug kits.
  8. Or you could just add them with a ball peen hammer. Did anyone see the un-aired Mythbusters on "Do pretty girls break wind"? Its on youtube and worth it for the laughs.
  9. Its good to see that the kits announced last year "in a collectors tin " are also going to be released in regular boxes. I need to check but I think the VW engine in the Manx is a 36 horse with twin carbs! Us air cooled guy need a good 1600 DP.
  10. Boy, what a welcome! Thanks guys! I haven't finished a model in years, but I sure do start a lot of them, I hope to change that now that summers over. I have "advanced modelers syndrome", I can't build a kit as intended, it must be reworked into something else. That could be why its been so long sense I've finished one! Gary, I do have a couple of Manx kits waiting, but they need to have some inaccuracy problems fixed (see what I mean?), and I bought some MRC Keystone wheel sets way back when. So I guess I'll have to build that Charger myself. (nice try thoe) As I said, I've been lurking for quite some time now and I see that this forum is a bit more "adult" than the one ran by the that other model magazine.
  11. Dave, is your Manx still gell coat too? I'm on thesamba and dunebuggyarchives as manxcraig.
  12. This was a few weeks ago at Larry's off road centers fall show. It has a top and curtains But I'm afraid of someone sliding on the ice and hitting it so most winter driving is out. 100_1771.jpg (104.11K)
  13. Hi guys, I tried to sign up a couple of years ago but was never able to get signed in. I always got a message that "another member has that e-mail" or something like that. I got another E-mail address and hear I am. I recognize some of your names from that other forum, but I haven't been active over there for years. I build 1/25 cars, mostly replica stock. I like almost anything from before 1972 or so. Not into Nascar, drag racings my thing. Really like Camaros, Mopars and air cooled VW's. And I still own the Meyers Manx (yes, a real one) I drove to high school. I live in central Indiana. Anyone going to the Circle City show this Saturday?
