  1. The whole kit is customized to the point I don't think anything remotely stock can be built from it. The chassis is a race / street rod set up, the front clip is a tilt up one piece, the roof is chopped with slanted "B" post like an El Camino, not straight like a sedan delivery and has a huge glass sunroof, and the rear tailamp is a one piece that goes all the way across, ant it has rolled pans with the bumpers eliminated. The fact that it is 1/24 scale would make kitbashing with the newer Revell 60 Chevy kits a problem.
  2. North central Indiana here, but I spend a lot of time in Logansport.
  3. Look those body's over close, there's more differences then you'd think! The ends of the rear quarter panels above the tailamps, both bumpers, the grilles and grille mounting panel (surrounds the 66 grilles, only goes over and drops between the 67) rocker moldings and GTO emblem placement.
  4. A hippy was staying with his grandmother and couldn't find his stash. "Grandma", he asked, have you seen a small pill Bottle marked L.S.D.? "Forget about your stupid bottle", she said, "Have you seen the dragon in the kitchen?"
  5. I just found this thread, there's a LOT of good inspiration here guys, fine work! There's not enough time left for me to get involved but I'll be watching!
  6. Put it with a AMT 69 442 and it's the best 70 Chevelle.
  7. I like the Revellogram snap kit, it seems to look "just right" .
  8. I picked up a couple of resin up tops for GM A bodies at a model show and swap a while back, I think they are from Time Machine Resin. When I get one of these kits I'll let everyone know how they fit.
  9. Much better than the decals. Thanks !
  10. I'm glad I'm not the only one with kits stuffed everywhere! My favorite kit for building is the Revell 69 Camaro, it can be kitbashed into so many variations. My favorite kit for parts is the AMT 69 GTX. A local wholesaler was dumping these cheap years ago so I bought a ton of them and the chassis updates all of those Mopar kits from the 60's just fine. Anybody need a GTX body?
  11. Four pages and no one has mentioned the AMT 65 GTO? That kit has been butchered and "restored" so many times and they still haven't got it right. I really like the bug-eye headlights !
  12. I'm sure one of the resin casters will have one soon.
  13. Another badly proportioned kit is the Monogram 1/24 1956 Chevy hardtop. The body is the same width as the new Revell 1/25 1956 Chevy sedan, but is longer than the Monogram 1/24 1957 Chevy hardtop. Also the roof is shorter than the roof on the 1/25 AMT 1957 hardtop. Its like a stretched 1/25 kit with a coupe roof.
  14. The correct seats are available in resin, and the Revell 1966 GTO guts fit well. Just don't use the tri-power, 66 was the last year for it.
  15. The old Monogram 69 1/24 Camaro. It's so out of shape it looks like a caricature instead of a replica.
  16. Wasn't able to make it, any body have photos?
  17. There's a stock one left?
  18. Thinking about it.
  19. Doesn't the Lambo "Countash" mean something like "Oh My God" or "What The He##" ?
  20. And what about the "Scarab" race cars, that's a dung beetle!
  21. I find it interesting that everyone had a problem with a Datsun Fair-Lady, but no one said anything about a Ford Fairlane, named for Henry's estate, Fair-Lane. And what about the Volkswagen "Thing". Was it named for the Adams family servant Thing?
  22. How about the Pontiac Grand Prix, the "Big Prize"
  23. I've always thought of the Avanti as a "better sized" personal car such as the T-Bird and Grand Prix. I also think that's what the Pony cars were too. ( with a bit of budget in mind too)
  24. Bluesman Mark gave us the answer back on page one. Even thoe the Barracuda was first, it was a REACTION by Chrysler Corp. to the news that Ford was coming out with the Mustang. The Barracuda was reaction to the Mustang, just like the Camaro, Firebird, Javelin, Challenger, ect. Could it be thought that the Studebaker Advanti was the real first pony car? It fits the bill better than a "Valiant with a fastback roof" doesn't it?
