  1. Not much to go on, is that going to be a TA?
  2. Most resin still has the mold release coating on it, and the most often used method to remove it is an overnight soak in Wesleys Bleach-Wite, a white wall tire cleaned found in the automotive section of most marts, or your local auto parts store. A light scrubing with an old toothbrush and a good rinse and you should be ready to go. Resin will take any primer and paint but you must use epoxy or super glue because the regular model glues wont work.
  3. The firewall should fit between the fenders fine because the Monogram 53 Chevy is too narrow., but might need to have a strip added to the bottom because the body is too tall and needs to be sectioned. It looks like brewsterg6 may have made his inner fenders, and this body is too long but I havent looked close enough at this kit to see just where.
  4. My dad brought home some Jo Han kits and built them with me back in 1960 (wish I still had them) and got me started. I built with my son who managed to win some contest and get printed in the SAE contest annual. I've been building with my two grandchildren the last few years.
  5. Both the Monogram and Revell 53 Chevys have proportion problems, and the Revell kit is far from stock. This subject is long over due for a new tool.
  6. I'll be first in line!
  7. Between the simplified contents, the 1/24 scale thing, the way out of porportion bodies in the 80's and the Tom Daniels subjects I hold the Revell name in far greater respect.
  8. The December Issue has been out for quite some time, If you haven't recived it yet you need to call somebody.
  9. True, but I wonder if it will warp in a few years. I've got it so I might as well go for it and hope for the best. Thanks for the help guys!
  10. So hummmmmm...... Do I try to repair it or look for a 60 Desoto body to start with?
  11. Looks great! I've got part of the hood and right fender missing, nothing like you started with! It's not warped so I don't think it's that acetate (spelling?) stuff. I think It's a New Yorker but will be a 300 F.
  12. I've aquired an old 1960 Jo Han Chrysler promo that has a lot of damage. Is this some kind of strange plastic that can't be repaired or am I OK to start working on it?
  13. Depends on the subject and how bad I want it. I've spent well over $100 on some resin builds, and as little as $15 when a kit was found in tne checkered box or on a 40% discount week.
  14. As far as I know they were just a few selected old kits reissued during the year 2000. I was real glag to see the 39 / 40 Ford sedan at that time.
  15. They are on ebay all of the time, but make no mention of their mod squad past in the listing. Just resin figures in 1/25.
  16. That can't be done without cutting and welding. Thats either a 57 Chevy with a 55 / 56 cowl or a 55 / 56 with 57 quarters fitted.
  17. A high school friend of mine had one of those, a big 4 door tank, and with a small wrench and a 1/8 inch drill the Oldsmobile letters were rearanged and he was the proud owner of a "SLOBMODEL". If we went anywhere together we drove my 56 Chevy 2 door Belair.
  18. It shouldn't, all COPO's had the cold air hood, and the flat hood won't close over a big block, all of them got the SS hood or the cold air hood.
  19. Looking good Nick, did you ever get the Road Runner windshield?
  20. Modelhaus resin has the 38 Chevy grille.
  21. I have one of those AMT Motor City Stockers, it is trimmed as a Cobra.
  22. The one from the AMT 67 and 68 Camaros will work. If I remember right it was long and needed the front trimmed to fit.
  23. 1974 Dodge Monaco 4 door sedan "Bluesmobile" 1968 Hemi Baracuda Super Stocker. 1954 Chevy pick up
  24. On the old Shovelheads the oil filter was in the oil tank.
  25. I always liked the clean look of the MK III, before all of the tacky stuff was added to the MK IV and V's.
