  1. Not bad for a car in dire need of a complete rebuild.
  2. There are three, the AMT 1/25 which might be the MPC one, the Revell snap kit in 1/25, and the Monogram 1/24 kit which might also be boxed by Revell. The Revell snap kit has the best body , but all three build up OK.
  3. What good is a model collection thats been footie stomped or a pickup thats been burnt to a chrisp?
  4. So true! And it's all about taking something that you value away from you. Best revenge involves hooking up with her best friend,
  5. A/FX in scale does the dash, but getting one might be tricky. Or bash it with a Hasegawa Kubelwagon for a Komanderwagen........ (yes it has a 25 HP and reduction boxes)
  6. I have one I'd trade for ??, PM Me.
  7. You never know a woman 'till you meet her in court.
  8. Mike, I didn't mean to offend, but it seems that any time a 32 Ford, tri - five Chevy or a first generation Camaro is anounced someone complains about it stating that they want a new tool of (fill in the blank) instead. The model manufacturers can't do a complete new tool for the same money as a kit based on a previous kit where 2/3's of the kit is allready tooled so we are going to see a lot of that kind of thing. Mobeius is a good example, they are kiting severial cars out of each new tool. As as you said it's going to be better days ahead.
  9. Nothing the 36 HP mill and split case trans in the AMT Meyers Manx wouldn't fix.
  10. Casey, in most cases, there is nothing to compare except the subject matter in the kits on that list!
  11. Sure would love some STOCK building options to those '32's, so I see lots of Deuce kits yet to come! Just because you don't like a subject doesn't mean it's not another persons long awated Holy grail kit.
  12. Althoe the 68 is far from my favorite beetle I'm very pleased.
  13. The part of the tunnel where the bugs belts mounted is in the section that is removed when the chassis is shortened, and the B piller is part of the body that the builder removes. And most buggys were built from beetles too old to have been built with belts. The buggy builder must do his own mounts. I have seen some nice three point belts in buggys using tht roll bar as the upper point.
  14. As these were homebuilt cars anything goes! Mine are bolted to holes in the side of the frame tunnel, and to a reinforced body bolt just ahead of the roll bar. I have seen them bolted to the seat tracks and just into the floor sheet metal, not every builder was skilled enough to to a proper job..
  15. The old Revell USA Beetle last seen as a "60's Beetle" with the hippy decals is a 68, and has been released as a sedan and a cabrolet, so I'm not holding my breath for a new tool.
  16. Simular to a story above I was at a local show and swap where one of the contest models was taken by someone other than the builder.
  17. I drove Camaros and Corvettes for years untill the kids got in school, always intending to return when the kids were grown. Well the youngest graduated collage last year, and a used Porsche is looking pretty good right now.
  18. That car has had LOTS of changes made if it is in fact Grumpys old car. That A/C vent in the dash makes me doubt lt.
  19. I unfortunatly own a Hyundai, my first AND LAST! I've been fighting transmission problems since 40 thousand miles, and window track / regulator / switches problems even earlier. I learned my lesson, the rest of you should buy a good pair of hiking boots.
  20. These cars changed almost weekly, almost anything is "right", some team probably ran it at least once.
  21. Unfortunatly it seems that all those early 60's pickup kits are long gone........thankfully there is resin.
  22. The best thing anyone can do for their children today is keep them out of public schools. Schools should teach kids how to think, not what to think.
  23. Interesting, poss. resin transkit?
