  1. I just got home from a show and swap in Indy, and scored a 60 Buick conv. built kit in good rebuildable condition, a 72 Ford grand Torino built kit, and a Jo Han 64 Dodge hardtop unpainted built kit, and a sealed Revell 67 Corvette roadster. I spent a TOTAL of $45 and payed no shipping. I don't count the gas because I enjoyed the contest show. Also I got to talk with severial friends that I don't see often. Try that on ebay.
  2. Will you be at Indianapolis in May? And bring any of these?
  3. Good sharp bends, sides are nice and parallel, looks good to me!
  4. Does that issue have the undersized headlights ?
  5. Don't forget the Revell kit way too short trunk. I'm not saying the kit is junk, I'm just saying it needs fixed. If you place the Revell 53/54 Chevy beside a Revell 69 Camaro (I did) you will find they are the same length, that should tell you something.
  6. My faviorite was the Chev Wagon fenderless altered.
  7. I'm back again, how about some Jr. Stockers? I've got three resin sedan delivery bodys waiting for race decals so I can build them. Real cars that ran, not made up fictious stuff.
  8. Nope! This bad boy wears a bowtie! We have a winner!
  9. Its a little older than than, more like late 40's! I likeie!
  10. It's realy an altered, but I REALLY want a set for the 66 Psycho Mustang (Snodgrass, Tom Sherlock Ford) . Me two!
  11. I having one of those lives.......
  12. If a promo is the only I can get a subject I want to model I start cutting!
  13. But a real steak lover does! And orders his top choice cut.
  14. Great artical in this months Hot Rod mag (May 13), history and pictures of traditional Manx and the newer ones.
  15. Very cool! If you realy want the 6 cyl, I'm sure someone on this forum who has built a street rod from the 41 Plymouth kit would have the 6 to trade with you.
  16. Yes, look for a Revell boxed one, still not cheap but no where near $85. Very quickly found one on ebay for $26.99 just now.
  17. Exactly. But Revellogram knew that doing an out of proportion body to fit a chassis with the wrong wheelbase and having to fudge everything else to fit was wrong. They expeced it to sell anyway. I think the model companys under estimate how serious model car builders can be.
  18. Think about Revells 70 AAR 'Cuda, two botched attempts that were torn apart on the forums and in print. Finaly we get an all new tool all of these years later. I can only guess that "poor sales" of a subject that should have done well may have inspired Revell to try again.
  19. When I first got back into modeling about 25 years ago the first 2 models I bought were the Monogram 69 Camaro and 56 Chevy because I had owned actual ones. Both were so inacurate I put them back into the box unbuilt. It's only Revells new 69 Camaro comming out that talked me into a second try in modeling. Wrong don't make it with me, but I have improved to where I can fix most things that bother me.
  20. This thread should be required viewing for everyone that gripes about their faviorite car not being kitted. I'll be watching for the K3 build!
  21. Not much to go on, is that going to be a TA?
  22. Most resin still has the mold release coating on it, and the most often used method to remove it is an overnight soak in Wesleys Bleach-Wite, a white wall tire cleaned found in the automotive section of most marts, or your local auto parts store. A light scrubing with an old toothbrush and a good rinse and you should be ready to go. Resin will take any primer and paint but you must use epoxy or super glue because the regular model glues wont work.
  23. The firewall should fit between the fenders fine because the Monogram 53 Chevy is too narrow., but might need to have a strip added to the bottom because the body is too tall and needs to be sectioned. It looks like brewsterg6 may have made his inner fenders, and this body is too long but I havent looked close enough at this kit to see just where.
  24. My dad brought home some Jo Han kits and built them with me back in 1960 (wish I still had them) and got me started. I built with my son who managed to win some contest and get printed in the SAE contest annual. I've been building with my two grandchildren the last few years.
  25. Both the Monogram and Revell 53 Chevys have proportion problems, and the Revell kit is far from stock. This subject is long over due for a new tool.
