  6. I think it will be for the next time my friend.....
  7. Well, I don't know about you guys but I say everything with pictures and yes, I use Model Master Gloss Black and nothing else. After warming my paint and applying it nice and wet, I wait only 1 to 2 hours and shoot my Alclad very lightly. I have never needed to rub it at the end. For some reason I have found out that when the paint is in the "tacky" stage before drying, the Alclad works better for me. This is just my humble opinion but I always say, practice and test before any Alclad session!! Everything chrome on this Cobra is Alcladed including the rims. This is Alclad Aluminum with the same black base, not very different than the chrome for this Corolla's wheels. Bumpers and rear light bezels are Alcladed on this Impala. Velocity stacks on this Falcon. I have tried all the methods mentioned on this thread, I am keeping this one but I am sure that every person is going to have their own opinions and that I certainly can respect!!!
  8. Perfectionists are usually like you my friend, very picky and critical about their own builds but like you said, nice shelf model and specially if it was on my shelf!!!!
  9. Lots of fun for sure, I thought it was the best year since I have been going to this event and I am sure it will get even better.... Now, if they could only do something about the parking!!!
  10. Looks good Irv, wish I could have that much space.....

  12. Thanks my friend. You know, it's a little tough to do but it's something that has to be perfected through a lot of practice. I say this because I have a lot of people telling me that they have so many issues when working with it. What I always suggest to do is to always use a brand new blade everytime and to not put too much pressure, this foil is so thin that excessive pressure on the knife is never needed. One of the reasons I scribe my bodies before painting is so that I can see the lines after the painting phase is complete. This is a tedious process but one that is well worth it at the end, specially with this type of kit. It is something that ANYONE can do, really!!!
  13. Yes, I work little pieces around that to form the elbow of the molding first and then I overlap the rest of the BMF that runs the lentgh of the molding. I do the same to the corners of the front and rear glass and anything that pertains to the corners. Not only is it easier but I think it will look more like the ones on the 1/1 car.....
  14. Thanks Jay! For the rear skirt I used Model Master's Aluminum Buffing Metalizer paint, these skirts were not a shiny chrome but more of a high polished metal. The surrounding molding is BMFed!!
  15. Does anyone know if Gregg is making up name tags like the ones used last year at the event????
  16. I use the dissolver also, works great and the best part of it..... you still see the shape of the car when your'e done as a keepsake!!!! By the way, that is two bottles of the stuff in there, the smaller the container, the least bottles you need to purchase even though this stuff is pretty cheap at any Wal-Mart.
  17. Flat black????? Did you say flat black???? I think I know what went wrong!!!
  18. Thanks but no thanks, I went through that nightmare already!!!!
  19. I prefer the pie-cut hood also, interesting little project my friend!!!
  20. Darn it Randy, you always do this to me, I am serious here, now I really want to do a station wagon!!!! I hope it doesn't come out better than your Nova which you know I am totally head over heals for (talk about love at first sight) I might just be checking out this wagon with Modelhaus, if it has an inviting price it will be part of my collection soon!!!! I will be checking this build very closely, hope you are at the bench right now trying to finish it....
  21. Had a little bit of time today and did a little bit of BMFing. This thing is tedious and at times almost impossible specially around the front but I am getting there with a bit of patience and a lot of spanish cursing....
  22. Well, wipers or not I think it's a great job you did on this one, I want to start on mine soon but still have a few things I have to complete first..
  23. Lots of real estate on this thing, beautiful job as usual!!!
  24. Very cool, looks nice in red but, one question, what if it rains???? Pep Boys has a special on wipers this week!!!! Just kidding my friend!!!
