  2. Daddyfink, that one? I will never understand..... The picture is right in your face when you finish taking it, no? And yes, it's like you can't take another one....
  3. It has happened to me at least 5 times with the Testor's lacquer paint cans, have to try to remember.....
  4. Wow, I really like this bro!!!!
  5. Thank you guys and Nick, I wouldn't say I had problems with the build itself, just the heavily chromed parts full of mold lines all over. Wish I could have put some wiring and plumbing on that engine, surely lots of potential there!!
  6. This was a review kit for SA I did a few months back, nasty little critter, 80% of the time spent building this thing was cleaning up parts. All the chrome was replaced with Alclad and even though I cannot alter the kit because of the review, this one was one of those kits that just had to be dealt with.... Thanks guys! Kevin, I used the old BMF trick of foiling before painting, it's not too difficult. What I personally do is sand the whole body lightly, this ensures that your BMF will have some tooth and surface to grab onto. When laying the BMF around the script, don't be cheap, place a nice big piece around it, this way it will stick to the script well once you start removing the excess around the script. Of course, make sure you burnish that BMF very well into each and every detail of the script. Use a smooth round pick to do this but make sure you don't put too much pressure, you don't want to break the BMF. Make sure you get as close to the script as possible when cutting the BMF around it. Go ahead and prime the body and let it dry completely. At this point you can go ahead and expose the letters using a very fine piece of sanding cloth, in this case I used 4000 grit but it is possible to use a polishing compound as well as a little bit of mineral spirits on your index finger and a piece of cloth. You can also add the color and even clear coat and do this step at the end, I just wanted to show this because I knew I was going to have some questions asked in reference to this subject.... Opel!

Simple kit, painted w/ Go Mango from Testor's, no clear. Very old mold, actually had to rescribe a lot of the moulding detail around the windows in order to BMF a little easier once the paint is in place. Bumpers were Alcladed and wheels were reworked so that they would not stick out so much. Fun build though!! 14. Love your work David!!!!!!!
  15. I used Testor's Lacquer Fiery Orange for this jeep but I toned down the metallics by using dull coat on the paint before adding the clear. It works pretty good! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

  20. Thanks guys. The front bumper had to be Alcladed because I decided to remove the molded in grill detail so that I may replace it with the photo etch counterpart, no way to work around this without messing it up. I also did the back ones for two reasons, the first was to match up with the Alcladed one in the front and second, well, just look at the picture....... Hosted on Fotki
  21. Sorry Jason, don't have them, should have taken some though.....
  22. Thank you for the input guys, truly appreciated and yes, if you want that kind of orange peel free and shiny paint, polishing is a must. Thanks again for your compliments, I am very happy to know you like it!!!
  23. For the ride height, I went with this picture...... Hosted on Fotki
