Harry, let me be brutally honest, didn't know you looked that good!! I mean, the plaid shirt and glasses, WOW!!!!
-
Don't worry about me guys, I really like to hear these opinions and wish I had the same eye for such details as you guys do. Seems to me that you are correct on everything you say, can't argue with facts right? Didn't think it had so many issues. I did enjoy building it and I hope this doesn't keep other people from buying it and enjoying it also. Thanks a lot for the information provided, you really took some time to provide us with valuable information and that's always good, I just hope that the makers of the kit would listen and stop issuing kits with such flaws, believe me, I don't feel bad, I feel good that you guys are replying positively to my work....

Harry, I love how "brutally honest" you can be sometimes!!!

So that explains the little green ball I saw under one of your cluth pedals, bugger perhaps????

Thanks my friend. I really thought that this kit was correct in every way when it came to the body proportions, at least that's what the "car lines" gurus here are concerned. According to you, what is wrong with the body on this? I am not one of those modelers that would stop a project because of right or wrong body proportions but I will be honest, it's still pretty important up to a certain point to me, it's one of the reasons I would never build the Revell 'Cuda. What do you base your facts on? Thanks again for your reply on this!!

Thanks Bob, just a reminder though, the next MAMA meeting is not this Saturday but the next because of the NNL East schedule!!!

I love this kit myself, probably one of the best kits ever engineered! I too have always liked the idea of a good builder starting on one of these, definitely would motivate me to do mine!!! The rolling chassis with the engine in place is a work of art in itself, probably the best way to display the model is exactly that, build a separate chassis and engine and display it with the finished one!! -
Great work on this man, all that brass work and soldering isn't easy to do, specially on this scale!

Thanks brother but believe me, these guys were just doing a quick build of this thing, I am not on that level, that's why they were chosen to do the build on that publication. Thanks anyway, I read that when it first came out and it's also one of the reasons I decided to build mine, they did a terrific job on theirs.

Thanks Jay, don't have much more to go, last night, I joined the body to the chassis and finished installing the tires. As usual with these Revell kits, the tires were not centered exactly in the middle of the wheel wells, I really hate that, don't remember the last time this part of the build made sense on any of my Revell kits. I will be installing the front and rear bumpers tonight and finish up with the rear view mirrors and other little details, I am hoping to have this one ready for the NNL East!!!

Thanks guys!! A bit more work on engine details, still have to place some hoses and wires that I added in their correct place but their is a lot of potential to making this engine really stand out!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

Interior is done, added some seat belts with P/E buckles and ignition key w/ key chain. Decals really make it look pretty good!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

Great stuff Tom, with your talent, I can't see many bad days for you....

Thanks guys! The only thing that was not included in this kit was the P/E Detail set that I purchased from MCG, everything you see here comes with the kit which is the main reason I decided to build it, I think it's a great kit other than the chrome bezels around the rear fins having a bit of a fit issue, other than that, it's pretty cool! Oh, and of course, the only thing that might deviate most people from building it is all the BMF work that comes with it, do not waste your time with the chrome stickers that come in the kit, they are not worth the effort but if you take your time with the BMF, it will surely look very nice. I did rescribe everything that the BMF is touching, believe me, it's nice to have some sort of a channel for that X-acto knife to glide on!

Thanks! You use the embossing powders in the same manner you do your flocking, by using Elmers white glue or paint, it's up to you. I do water down the glue just a bit, it somehow makes it easier for the powder to stick better.
-
Looks good but you will have to back up when taking your pictures so that the model comes into focus rather than the background...
-
Very cool Lyle, I like the idea about the fuzzy dice and the embossing powder!! I will try that with some dingle balls!!!

Why not clear coat it?
