  1. here is a few from a very old movie..... 1967 to be exact...... great movie, should be a cult classic!!! my appologies if they have been used already. didn't read all the posts. (quotes taken from imdp, i was too young to remember them!) They're gonna' keep chickening us, that's what they're gonna' do! They wanna' crack us up! These kids have no place to go and they want to get there at 150 miles an hour.
  2. remember, of all my years as a superhero, phone booth doors open inward!! you would have to modify or reverse the door so it wouldn't crash into those precious builds!! anyways, i keep what few builds i have in boxes, i know what they look like.... thats why they are in boxes!!!
  3. has anyone tried to correct the downward slope of the rear of the car? if you look at the body from the side, you can see that at the rear roof pillar, the body droops. any help on correcting this would be wonderful.
  4. this is looking KILLER!! great kit bashing. nice to see cutting and hacking of parts being done out there!!!
  5. thanks. i use Alstons web site (when i am actually building something) a lot. great pictures and configurations.
  6. great looking gasser. very well done!!
  7. i recieved another, yes, another hemi dart in a well exicuted trade.
  8. that's dumb...... maybe i will Use the Fairlane block, & Shelby upper half, & tell no one... i amaze myself sometimes...... naa, just joking...... good idea.
  9. just got thte 68 shelby GT 500 with the SOHC (or DOHC) motor. how much different is the mustang chassis to the fairlane. i half heartily tried to put the one from the 33 willys with no success. i have not really looked at these in depth, thought i would throw it out to you guys.
  10. my long time friend called me in the early 80's, said he located 2 superbirds. one was 440 4bbl, yellow/white interor auto, the other was 440+6, 4 speed, white/black int. $6,000 each. he kicks himself cause he took the 4 bbl auto car and i passed cause i DIDN'T want the 4 speed car........ he still has the yellow bird.......
  11. i really never run out of things or ideas, hence, the millions and millions of projects i have started. i guess what happens to me is a true "builders block". when at the bench, i have mental lapses on just how to make my idea a reality. kind of "oh, what part from what kit will work for this?" or just how to go about scratching something up. hope that makes sense.
  12. great time for this post. i am in the process of building my, well, lets just say "car cave" as we type. its a 16'x17' unfinished room in the basement. that should be big enough for me and hopefully my 2 boys to build. been drawing up plans forever (actually we built the house 12 years ago) and are in the final stages. everything i have collected for it has been free (yea, i garbage pick) or garage sale items. i have 2 heavy metal desks, a flat file, a drafting table and a 3'x6' bench. there will be no big screen or computer (takes away from precious building time). only my old fisher reciever, techniques turntable and jensen speakers will be in there to play my metal and 80's hair band music. got a crapload of wood from work to expand the working area of the desks and build shelving. i will have a library, work area, paint area all in the same room. plenty of mags, hot wheels and models. i look forward to hearing from you guys on this subject as i go along with the transformation. it wont be pretty, hehe, maybe i should call it my "rat-cave" really...... "rat-cave" ...... sometimes i wonder ....
  13. finally can post something here. made a few trades, got a lindburg 53 ford, a 69 charger, interior parts for a 68 runner and a few rat packer hood are on thier way!! now, if someone can ship me some time to build, i will be all set!! thanks all involved for the great trades!!
  14. WHAT!!! c'mon, everybody knows that mopars NEVER get that rusty!!!! being #1, a pro street fan and #2, a mopar fan, this is total blasphemy!!! great build! out of the box thinking there!!! fantastic execution!! something i could never do.
  15. tubbs

    64 Fairlane

nice.... looking good! are you using the kit suspension or tubbing it out?
  16. looking sweet! great first post and welcome.
  17. i haven't heard anything. i am willing to go to ESPN. NFL, or any other site and set it up as long as we can get 8 guys or more to commit. if we dont get 8 pr more, we can still have one, maybe limit it to just AFC or NFC players. i like not having superstar teams, more of a challange.
  18. great build Tyrone. you have a great ability to make these kits look really aggresive.....
  19. my username is because i am the biggest pro street fan around. cant get enough of them. i used to not have an avatar, pretty much know nothing 'bout computers, so i never bothered, until i ran across a thread on another forum about the old street machine nationals, when big cubes, fat tires and blown engines shook everything around. now that everything is based on how much a car is worth stock and gas prices are out the roof, it just brought back those times when you trailored your car to a show cause you beat the ###### out of it and the trailor insured you a ride home if you broke something.
  20. i thought my last english class......... oh, hold on....... I thought my last English class was back in '78. If I had to put caps in, it would take me 20 minuted to type a post. Maybe double spaces ....
  21. i have no clue, i bet this one comes out normal....... fixed it!!!!
  22. lies, all lies!!! (just joking) i look at building time as time spent at the bench, we all have trouble getting there. so c'mon now, we all know what REALLY slows our builds down, of course, another build!! yea, that's right!! breaking that kit out that you have great ideas for while your current project sites on the bench awaiting completion. the current project gets slid a little to the left, not even put in the box, and another one hits the table. then, on the way home, you see a sweet 32 hiboy with just the right stance and wheels....... when you get some building time, you sliiiiiddde the other one to the right just a bit to make room on the bench for the 32 you just happen to have. this has become habit for me, and God bless all of you who don't do this or i wouldn't have anything to look at when i go to the "under glass" section.
  23. ok, since the rat rod post went over so well, lets start one that will bring tears to most peoples eyes. tell us about the hot rod, musclecar or whatever that you didn't plop down the money for. the heartache story. i have plenty of them and this one really hurts!!! i remember this like it was yesterday....... this is intitled "kids know everything" summer of 1979, just out of high school and had a decent job, a friend and i went to a very large swap meet (before the internet, this was the only way to sell things,) got there early and went looking for a muscle car. i had graduation money and just sold a 68 road runner so i had some cash and very nice parents. looked all day and nothing really caught my eye until we were getting ready to leave. we saw a black (actually fathom green but i am color blind) 69 camaro with cragars sitting on a trailor. thats cool!! lets go check it out. very clean car, 4-speed, buckets, big block.....BIG BLOCK? i saw no 396 emblems on the outside of the car.... i askes the guy what size motor, he stated 427.... "dont you mean 396?" i said back to him. "nope, a 427" he said. "did it come out of a vette or something? "nope, bought it this way"........ yea right? we laughed.. i was a 19 year old know-it-all about cars and the factory DID NOT put 427's in camaros. I KNOW!!! I'M 19 AND I READ HOT ROD MAGAZINE!!!! "its a special order car. a COPO"....... we laughed again. "a what?" we said. "a COPO camaro, i ordered it to race and i am not racing anymore and want to sell it. $5000 or give me an offer." we walked away laughing our butts off, only to realise about a year later that they actually made a 427 COPO camaro in 1969..... who's laughing now....... certainly NOT ME!!!
  24. i had a small desk in my room that i build and drew pictures of cars. would paint in a crawl space opening.
  25. i have one that finished his first year @ Kent state for Architechure and one just starting 5th grade....... im 52, thats why you never see me post in the "what did you get latly" section...
