  1. Viva Las Vegas! Come on vacation, leave on probation! SHOWGURLZ! Pat I love the Vegas Hot Wheel. G
  2. Exactly! The EVOC instructors tore their already thinning hair out as the switches occurred. Everything is different between them when slamming RWD and FWD cars around a course. We put a bunch of 9C1 Caprices with LT1 engines on the road, and most of the young un's pooped their pants first time they floored it. Imagine their surprise seeing white smoke coming from the rear wheels! That was truly fun to watch. G
  3. It was actually Minnesota in 1979. http://www.ufocasebo...heriff1979.html Handled by MiB G
  4. LIAR! You never see a single cloud down there. Don't blame your poor painting skills on the weather young man. I for one like that color on that car. I've seen a real one painted a shade darker gray, and was fortunate enough to have sat in a black one. I gotta get me one of these for sure, Tamiya that is. G
  5. How about a vintage NHP cruiser? I turned the Lindbergh '53 Crown Victoria into a Mainline (sort of) and scratch built the roof light. NHP did all sorts of weird one off emergency lighting configurations and this was no exception. Paint is all Krylon, interior as well. The B/W was polished, there is no clear coat on this, the interior was airbrushed with a semigloss over the can colors.. G
  6. I once thought about modeling my police car. Does that count? G
  7. Given my age and experience I am usually consulted by the firearms training staff when something new and improved makes a debut. My first comment is usually "what happens when it breaks? Can an agent adapt and perform under stress when the whizz bang goes belly up? Now a shifter really isn't in the realm of deadly force encounters, yet "what happens when it breaks? BMW introduced a 7 series with a toggle on the console that allowed a driver full freedom to navigate onboard menus. Not only could no one could do this and not come close to hitting another car, no one could figure out what to do if it didn't work. Why change what we all know? Why change what works? I saw plenty of issues arise when my PD switched from FWD to RWD cars and back again in the span of three years. Kids were piling up cars with alarming regularity. Oh yes we can adapt, but why must we? G
  8. As do I. I have been at this model building thing for a long time. That doesn't mean I build breathtaking models, have perfect paint, or absolute precise detail. I want comment, critique, and yes praise if it deserves it. The typewritten medium is not condusive to emotion nor can the nuances of personal conversation be detected. Jonathan and I are friends in the "real" world. He knows "how I am" so to speak. So when I bust his chops, he feels confident as he can literally "hear" me speaking. He "knows" what I'm saying. For the rest, I try to provide positive feed back, and if I feel some constructive comment is required, PM's are the way for me. G
  9. These Valspar laquers work well for me during those optimum weather times. A bit hotter or a bit cooler and all is lost. As it is I spray a good coat, allow it to set up indoors for a bit, then place in direct sunshine for that "Baked On" finish. Danno you narrated the procedure to a " T ". Looks like we have the requisite experience to properly handle these HTPH devices. Ok back to work, I just got back from the holdover. Not filming Las Vegas Jailhouse today, which was a shame, lotsa good loonies in the intake area. G
  10. Thank you Augie! Jonathan that's Valspar white laquer from a can. I scored a can each of black and white for little $$ and have been using them and a can of clear for over a year now. G
  11. A bit more. G
  12. It's a zombiechaser for sure. When you have a day or so I'll explain how the Lindbergh Charger kit shortened my life. Desert Classic will be the perfect time. I'll even buy. G
  13. The paint is nicely done! Good on you for stopping and using the AB. That's the only way to get better and comfortable with it. G
  14. A little bit more. White primer under the white, black primer under the black. We've been having the perfect painting weather here. G
  15. Soitenly! Nyuknyuknyuk. G
  16. Some progress. Avert your gaze Jonathan, that really is a NASCAR chassis with a machine gun ring mounted on top. G
  17. Satin on the seats, and door panels. Flat for the carpet and package shelf, gloss for the dash and wheel. There are a lot of colors which look good with a black exterior. Take our suggestions, make your choices, and paint away. BTW, Anyone remember those Dodge Diplomats from the 80's? The police package had a front bench seat, and where you sat was one solid piece of vinyl. No texture, no stiching, just yards of vinyl, ours were dark blue. Well some enterprising garage guy Armoralled all those seats. Yup, you guessed it, slid across and almost out the other side. We wore polyester blend uniform trousers back then. Hey it was the 80's..................... G
  18. First thing is, none of us jump out of perfectly good airplanes just for fun. G
  19. I really despise this kit, that said I wanted to use it in some fashion. I googled "CHP Charger" and got five pages of goodness. Hmmmm, now I know where it will be going. Dumm dumm da dumm dumm, da da da, da-da, da deet deet.......................... G
  20. Yes I do build cars. Occasionally, and with much forethought. It took a year to open the second kit I purchased when this one came out. Waiting six years, and receiving what I think is a half-azzed attempt really burned me. My first is still unfinished, sitting on the shelf waiting for the odd bit here and there. I just gave up after the frustration overwhelmed me. It does look good when finished, but getting there is a battle. More than I think it should be for a "new" release. No pics yet, but here's a clue detective. G
  21. Oh I like that, I really, really like that. G
  22. Great minds do think alike! G
  23. Hot Rods here, Emergency vehicles there. That's about it. Oh, armor kits are in a pile, Shermans on top. G
  24. Marvelous work. G
