Next month will be the Lincoln, the GT is on hold for a bit. I have an extended road trip I'm taking in May, and really want to drive the TC. I'm also waiting to see what happens with our current salary situation. Looks as if the Chairman has convinced the Governor to unfreeze our agency, and bring us up to current DPS (trooper) levels. That would mean breathing easier as far as economics is concerned. Once you pay off a car, it's way too nice not having that monthly bill. As of now every wheeled vehicle I own is paid off, and that's a good thing. Still, everyone likes a new car. G

I have driven a new '12 GT that my co worker just bought. We had both been kicking the idea around until one weekend he just went and did it. Now if MrsG agrees it's a done deal, she wants a Camaro. G

Your skills ......are they there yet?
Agent G replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
After 49 years I believe I have acquired some skill in regards to building. I am no where as proficient as some, but I continue to move forward. Painting is my strongpoint. I love the process, and would like nothing better than paint builds all day. My weakest area is customization. I can build a period hot rod, a box stock car, or anyone's copcar, but I'm kind of lost in the custom area. I know what I like, I guess I just have never dug in and went for it. I have built kits for others, but I prefer not to. I did replicate a friends '07 Mustang, and he's thrilled, but again, not my cup o' tea. G -
Anyone have tips on scale fruit and fruit crates?
Agent G replied to Austin T's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Basswood and clay, now that's the ticket. Also peruse the counter at a coffee shop. Most have wood stir sticks that are just perfect for scale lumber. They mix paint well also......... G -

This was my first attempt at a custom, chopped thr roof and smoothed the body. Not real good, but hey I still like it. G -
This is my favorite of all time. Caution, not model car related. G

Feedback? How about you tell us what you did? I thought I was looking at the real car you were planning to build a scale model of. G

Curtis are you attempting a build in 1/24 or 1/25th scale? If so, there was a Jeep model that had a .50cal mother deuce included. If in 1/35th scale, Tasca sells it's glorious MaDuece, and .30 cal separately. http://www.tasca-modellismo.com/english/item.html G -

Terry's post reminded me of a couple of celebrity encounters. Back about 1980 or 81 Elton John was appearing on stage down on the riverfront. When we picked him up from the airport he traded shirts with a sergeant and rode in the lead police car. The sergeant rode in the limo, I was on a bike up front. We snuck him in and had no issues. Thanks to the Secret Service I was locked in a meeting room with Bill Clinton once. They got their panties all wadded up and locked down the hotel. I was the bomb tech who was supposed to "clear" the issue, but those folks get a bit anal now and then. We drank coffee and waited. Bill said he was glad Hillary was in another room. I was standing on a sidewalk watching a crowd when someone poked me in the back and asked "Is this the right way to the stage?" I turned around and was face to face with Jimmy Carter. Well, more like face to top of the President's head. We got that straightened out pretty quick. Pope John Paul visited St Louis in January 1999. His Eminence brought the Popemobile and all the bodyguards. The Secret Service decided his Holiness should ride in a armored limo to the residence he was staying in. He, on the other hand, wanted to take the Popemobile. Stubborn little cuss he was, but I didn't blame him, he had a bad hip and that limo wasn't comfortable. You could see he was enjoying himself with the debate. He finally walked to the Popemobile and as he was leaving gave us all a big grin and a thumbs up. It was fun. G.

For some reason this has always been my favorite. It a simple build of the old '49 Ford kit where I scratchbuilt the roof lights. I cast the radio and siren box from old masters. The build was fun, the subject is near and dear to my heart, and it came out pretty good. G
