  1. I believe it was in SA. It was for a 1/8 or 1/12 scale flathead if memory serves me correctly.
  2. If you can find it the Polar Lights Gas Rhonda Mustang funny car has a good set of valve covers for the cammer. As a bonus you also get a 426 hemi motor in that kit too. If you want a good valve cover and are not concerned with the Ford engraving try the "street freak" Mustang and Pinto's. They look good on street rods.
  3. Lowes carries Valspar in satins, I have not used the black but have used the red for 60's - 70's era headers and it works great.
  4. Thanks Bill, I'm looking at the late 60's early 70's era. I already have the MCG belt and pully sets as well as other various parts just wondering if there is a good starting point out there from a kit. I have over 400 kits but nothing has the blown small block. The double dragster kit has the front mount blower as well as the parts pack.
  5. What kit contains the best small block blown ( top mount ) Chevy motor ? 1/24 - 1/25 scale.
  6. Gibson makes a 392 injected hemi, has all the parts in resin, suggest using aluminum stacks in place of his resin units. Speed City Resin offer a 392 injector manifold, aluminum stacks in your choice of height and an AFX package with the pump, front cover etc. These are all seperate items.
  7. The January issue had a very good article on Steve Perry's Freight Train dragster. A couple of questions. 1) What scale is it? 2) What is the source for the front wheels? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Maybe a bit off topic but the center spread ( 32 High Boy ) is my neighbors car and was my inspiration to get back into the hobby a few years ago. And yes he drives the High Boy almost daily when the weathers is good.
  9. You may want to try using a solid piece of thin real wood (available at most hobby shops) then using the photo etched bed rails that Norm at replicas and miniatures has available ( they can be polished out to look like chrome ).
  10. Tamiya TS13 has been discontinued, have not heard anything on a replacement clear.
  11. I have had sucess shooting the original turn signal amber over yellow. Seems like the current amber is some how different from the older rpoduct.
  12. I tried 91% alcohol to strip some resin mags that were shot with metalizer. Left them in over night and when they came out one them had turned to mush while the other one was just fine. Any ideas?
  13. I too had problems finding Plastikote in So. Cal. A search on their web site showed Car Quest does carry it. The only stores that were close to me were out in Santa Ana. I have had good results with duplicolor both the primer and the scratch filling primer. Available at Oriley auto parts.
  14. According to the Tamiya web site TS13 clear has been discontinued. Sure hope they have a replacement as it was a great product and decal friendly. My LHS finally got some product in but no clear ( not even the semi or flat ). Just keep checking their site for any updates.
  15. I have never used Zero paints.
  16. I have had success with both Tamiya (decal friendly) and Black Gold clears ( not sure on Black Gold with decals.
  17. Only the flocking material is on clearance, the powder ( which is much finer ) is still $3.49
  18. Thanks guys, that worked, order went thru.
  19. Mags need a single wire run to a switch that serves as a ground. Without a 'OFF' for the mag the motor will fire as soon as it it turned over,
  20. Tried to get into the Modeltyme / Detail Master web sight to place an order yesterday and page was gone, a search turned up nothing. Sent an email with no responce. Is it just me or are they out of business?
  21. What about aftermarket decals, I know GSL rules allow for any decals. What about it Revell?
  22. I did the Gibson blown Chevy in Wesley's overninght with no adverse effects.
  23. I'll send them to you.
  24. As fate would have it I have 1 set of yellow, let me know if you want them.
  25. Steve, what color harness are you looking for. I have a few of the "old" cover shot sets.
