A trip to the thrift store
Evil Appetite replied to leviblue's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I hit every thrift store while i'm out doing whatever. As I've said before. I've paid less than$5 for kits that others sell for up to $100 on eBay. One time I almost told the guy that.. I thought twice and bit my tongue -
Remove polish from panel lines
Evil Appetite replied to martinfan5's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I usually run it under warm water and lightly scrub with a soft bristled toothbrush or a fine micro brush if i have any clean ones. Best thing is to get it out right away, dont set it down and plan to do it later. After your done the section, run your toothpick or micro brush along the panel line. -

Mod positions usually are. Most will question your actions, and everyone thinks they can do it better. Back on topic though, I have a few hundred kits I know I wont build. i wouldnt mind a Good/Bad list myself..It would be convenient. -

Need more specific thread titles
Evil Appetite replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree...I've been browsing the General and How Do I sections from beginning to end over the last few days. I noticed quite a few topics named Need Help..How Do I... and others alonng those lines. 1 or 2 were even unanswered which didnt suprise me. There was even one asking for help..cant remember for what..but they referenced a pic of the kit they were working on that they hadnt even taken and posted yet! -

Complete Breakdown?
Evil Appetite replied to kbelcher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I wouldnt bother breaking it down and starting over. You'll never progress that way. When i got back into the hobby i stripped the paint off my body no less than a dozen times. I was holding myself back by doing that. Just build it the best you can, then strive to do better on the next one. With all the great advice and instruction here on this forum, I was expecting to get comparaqble results..doesnt work that way..gotta crawl before you can walk! Just my opinion -

Evil Appetite replied to Chillyb1's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials

I've been taking a look through his stuff and wow...everything he's done looks incredible! Not to mention that there are many of his 1/25 bodies I'm interested in that go for the low price of $12!! Whats the quality of his product? Does he deliver promptly? Concidering the horror stories I've read here about other 'businesses', I should probably ask before I lay down my money for a bunch of his resin!

Really Nice build. WHen you mentioned it might be a 2 tone...what I saw in my head was a Kiln Red/Gun Metal combo...then again my head is a little sick!

I get that streaking a lot with testors One Coat..with Fiery orange and Inca Gold. With Firey Orange though, for some odd reason...the streak disappears after a day in the oven...not with Inca Gold, it remains, not as prominent as it is when the paint is still wet, but noticable none the less. Looking forward to seeing your end product. This kit is one of the many I have planned for this year.
