  3. Charlie, a few questions. when you do your mockup, do you build the entire thing up using all parts you'll be using in the final build? Is that your distributor on there and finally...if it is..the boot material doesnt look like the stuff that comes with your kit, looks more like styrene rod?
  4. I copied all the tip's i could possibly want to use over at Brians Model Cars, and pasted them into a word document, named each one appropriately and organized them into folders. works well for me.
  5. For me, Gremlins invoke the gag reflex , but when I saw that they're including pro Stock parts, I decided that i'm going to pick one up
  6. All i can tell you is that back in January I contacted Round2 and suggested that these might be great sellers if they release them. The person who replied told me that they're looking into all of the old Pro Stock , Dragster and Funny Car molds to see how they've held up. And that there's a very good chance we'll be seeing them in the next year or so
  7. has anyone ever used this stuff before? Due to it's high price I've only used it to strip chrome plated parts quickly. Lately I've been trying to strip the paint off of a Charger FC body using Easy Off and CSC. neither worked. The paint didn't budge. I submerged the body into this stuff and the paint lifted off in less than 30 minutes. Not a spec of paint or primer to be seen anywhere. There are no ingredients on the bottle, nor can I find them on the web site. Does anyone know what this stuff is made of?

  12. I prefer that a vehicle NOT have the ability to make facial expressions. Creeps me out
  13. I'm saving my excitement for the MPC Pro Stock series. Having said that, I'm still happy when they release something. Even if it isnt my subject of choice, I'll buy a copy
  14. They're better than any hobby paint i;ve used, that's for sure. The clear coat is great!
  15. all the above is great advice..but don't forget..start skipping haircuts...you'll need as much as possible to pull out when ya get frustrated
  16. mmmm....love those go-go boots!
  17. Those are great places to find kits..when they do have them. I pay 1.99 for kits people charge up to $100.00 on eBay
  18. almsot time to renew mine...I only have November/December left..time flies
  19. I`ve been thinking of buying the largest one myself ..can the filter be replaced with the typical furnace filters that we already use for our home made booths
  20. I picked up 12 Lindberg SuperBee kits at a liquidation warehouse last year and noticed that they seem to be made of what seems to be really brittle plastic. I have one that I bought upon release that doesn't feel that way. Of all the kits I've bought over the years that's the only kit i can recall ever having that kind of plastic. As for MPC kits I built many back in the early 80's, i dont recall having that issue..but..recently I built the 67 Streaker Vette and oddly enough some of the pieces were the way you described. The body was fine...but some of the other parts had that kind of consistency.
  21. I have here the AMT Comp Parts Pack release by Stevens. I also have the AMT Custom and Competition Parts Pack in storage, and I'm wondering if the frame is a fit for the Comp T body in the Stevens Parts Pack release. Anyone knowing if they're a match will be saving me a trip to my storage unit and an hour going through box after box of kits! Thanks! --- Mike
