Competition Resins body with a revell donor -
I'm almost done painting what I'll be building during the winter. (if i build any at all, I'll probably be playing SWTOR). I dont pay the electricity where I am, so i try not to open my vent window during the winter unless I really have to..If i paid the bill here i'd have less of a problem with it.

1969 Camaro outlaw prostreet updates 11/19/11
Evil Appetite replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
ahhh ,i hadn't noticed yours started at 0. I'll be going back eventually so i'll keep an eye out for those beads. Thanks for the reply tyrone, much appreciated -
I came across this magazine a few years back, and started buying it religiously along with Drag Racer and Mopar Action. it's called RPM - Dedicated To Extreme Horsepower Worldwide. It's full of Pro Mod, Pro Stock and any extreme racing car running today. I thought I'd share it with those who didn't know about it and who may be interested in it. It's worth much more than the $4.95 cover price!

1969 Camaro outlaw prostreet updates 11/19/11
Evil Appetite replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Tyrone...question for you. After seeing this beautiful build, and the image you posted for the Beadalon beads and tubes I went out and bought some myself. Now, they didnt have the Crimp Beads so i bought the Crimp Tubes Variety Pak. Is there a functional difference between the beads and the tubes? Or is it only a matter of preference -

Walk, then Run
Evil Appetite replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I myself was guilty of this when i got back into building models a few years back. Seeing the incredible work done by guys like Rommel,ScaleMaster and many others, I assumed I would be able to read the narrative, look at the pictures and skip the walking stage. I was so wrong..to the point where i expected myself to be able to paint and detail a model and have it look as good as the best of the best. It was so bad I stripped and repainted the same body at least a dozen times, and didn't finish one model in the first 2-3 years. I finally realized that all of the narrative and pictures in the world aren't a substitute for experience. So, while I'd still love to one day build like Rom, I know it isn't gonna happen until I've put in my time and ' paid my dues' so to speak. While there's nothing wrong with giving a thumbs up for effort, I dont think there's anything wrong with following that up with advice and pointers. I know when I get my own camera, I'll be posting my builds, and I'll be encouraging as much criticizm as people will be willing to share. I think this is a great thread, and thank you to Jantrix for starting it. -
wow...thats a pretty bright idea lol

Buying more than is financially healthy
Evil Appetite replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've bought way more than I'd ever be able to build..as most have. My logic was, I'm not spending money at the bar anymore so why not, at least I'll have something to show for it. I also figured because of my disability, I wont be able to work forever...might as well buy them while I can afford them.Thing is, now I have too much to show for it. To the point where I spent a few weeks going through them, separating what i want from what i can part with. That came up to 700+ kits and still leaves me with close to 2k. that's still crazy! don't want to even estimate the cash I've spent on tools, paints, model and car magazine/books, aftermarket stuff ect.. There wa a point where I was walking into the hobby shop multiple times per week to buy kits. Got to the point where the owner started giving me a discount on anything I bought! lol Now, I just buy new releases -
which section did you find these in? I cant find them when i go to Michaels , and i look high and low

Best opening scene from a movie ever!

Heavy Metal..for the sheer ridiculousness of it all. A 55? vette being dropped out of the space shuttle cargo bay...enters the earths atmosphere and plummets to the earth..or you think it will..the driver pulls the chute what..20 feet before it hits the ground? Then bounces and drives away..silly! -
