  1. Fantastic work..Love your product BTW..great stuff. Thanks for the great closeup's of your engine build, I'm building this one myself and not knowing alot about that eras cars, they're helping alot. I especially love those headers, the ones that come with this kit are just horrible. How did you hollow out the solder.. that looks great!
  2. I bought one for 5 bucks at a thrift shop..and tried modifying it with a dimmer switch to control the heat. I'm no electrician so it was a pain in the ass and a little dangerous. Especially when I plugged it in the first time and and purdy blue spark shot straight up from the outlet and tripped the circuit breaker! I went out and spent 40 bucks on a Nesco American Harvest, has it's own temp control. Works like a charm. Even warms up my build room during the winter!
  3. I havent seen R&M offer them for ages. I know they had a ton of them no less than a year ago. I put off buying them and of course now they arent available. These are the only ones I can find. http://www.stradasportsstore.com/shop-bin/sc/productsearch.cgi?search_field=stencil&storeid=*1cfc51f5912d2ed1916b462a9bad60bb&%2Fbuttons%2Fgradient1_dark_blue%2Fsearch-button.gif.x=0&%2Fbuttons%2Fgradient1_dark_blue%2Fsearch-button.gif.y=0 If anyone knows of where I can get the RM stencil I'd also appreciate it
  4. There seem to be many different ways I can go with this. Thanks for all of the reply people..always appreciated!
  5. I'm wondering if a Dremel can cut glass? I have a Touch n Flow glue applicator and I find it's way too long for me to hold properly. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my hands and holding my thumb over the end to keep the glue from leaking out while positioning the other end is very difficult. I'm thinking if I can cut it down to half length I'll be able to hold it more comfortably and apply my glue more precisely. Can this be with my Dremel, and then smooth the sharp edges with one of the smoothing stones that came with my set?
  6. I placed an order for a few kits from him 3-4 weeks ago. Nice guy
  7. I have no problem with not cursing here, or anywhere. The way I feel is if someone cant get a point across or articulate what they're feeling without swearing, well, maybe the should be working on their vocabulary. Read a book.
  8. If i remember correctly from my Office days, you should be able to right click on the picture and create a margin around it so they wont butt up against one another
  9. I know that brushes come in various kinds such as sable and nylon, but I've always wondered if one type is better suited for a certain type of paint. Does it even matter?
  10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260841499999+ no? awww
  11. I wouldnt worry about fumes if you have an exhaust to the outside. Keep the basement door closed, paint, and let the fan run for a few minutes after you're done. You probably wont even have to do that if all of your over spray get's picked up by the fan. Thats my experience anyway. Beleive me, I share a house with my best friend and his daughter. He wasnt all that happy about painting in the house when I picked the hobby up again, but even he admits he cant smell a thing when I paint. As i said, close the door, let the fan run a while afterwards. Yes, get a dehydrator. I also have an American harvest by Nesco, with a temp control. Best investment since I bought all of Donn's DVD's! I let it run overnight at 105,by morning it's all good to go.
  12. Hi Dan, I sent you a PM the other day but yes, I'd really appreciate that PDF when you have the time! --- Mike
  13. My apologies for hijacking your thread.I picked this kit up a while back but the decals are shot. Does anyone make replacements? Great looking builds!
  14. You should also be able to pick one up anywhere they sell Dremels. I lost mine as well and paid$5 for a replacement
  15. I think Revells was pushed back to the end of August/September sometime.
  16. Dont understand what the problem is..post the cap, if there are any more to post...well, fotki is free, links are simple.
  17. Mr Quimby! Count me in! I learned alot from you tut on SA's forum, cant wait to see this one!
  18. I emailed them awhile back and suggested that any of the older Funny Car/ pro Stock kits might be good sellers. They replied saying that they're planning on re-releasing some of the MPC Pro Stock Series kits in the future
  19. I use a drilled out nozzle. I have 2 set up and ready to go. 1 using a Testors nozzle, and the other a Tamiya nozzle. I drilled out the hole on the nozzle, stuck a length of small diameter brass tubing in there and sealed it with 5 minute epoxy. I bent the tube at a downward angle an inch or so away from the end and that's it. Works great. When i'm done, i run afew drops of thinner through it to clean it all up.
  20. I use a Nesco American Harvest dehydrator and I have to tell ya, it's one of the best investments I've made in my hobby so far. Set it to 105 degrees and let it run over night, and my paint is ready to be rubbed out. Takes the 'sit down and wait ' factor right out of the painting-finishing part of the hobby! I recommend one of these to anyone who builds.
  21. What about a dedicated server in his home connected to a dedicated high speed connection. Would that work?
  22. I only get the SQL error when I click Model Cars in the breadcrumb link
  23. Imagine the maintenance cost! Nice engine build btw!
  24. Is that the type of fan found in a heater? A squirrel cage I believe it's called?
