  1. I still dont get it, wages 2-3x more than most others, seven weeks paid vacation per year and bankable sick days,I'd give 10 years off my life for a permanent job like that. glad to hear they're going back Monday
  2. I use it, I like it. Doesnt work well for metallics though, for that I use this http://www.micromark.com/Paint-Shaker-110v-AC,6781.html
  3. Wiring isnt covered in depth in the way you need..but here's something I posted a few weeks ago that might help. My link
  4. I've bought kits from him before...pretty good service I have to admit. I don't browse his site when I'm looking to spend money though, as his listing don't have pics of the kit, like Model Express does. Thats a minus. I like to see what I'm gonna be buying. Service and Price..very good though
  5. Is anyone still able to find this at their LHS? I've been using the 50/50 Classic Black/Flat Black mix, but still haven't found the perfect mix to achieve the bottled paints sheen.
  6. First you need a power source that'll push 1.21 gigawatts.. 1.21 gigawatts? 1.21 gigawatts? Great Scott!
  7. Great! Thanks for the info guys, I now know a little more than I did yesterday!
  8. Seeing that I dont really know much about cars, can someone direct me to a correct explanation of what a 4 Link is? Is it a common component or something only found on race cars. I know,I think, It has to do with suspension. Are there any tutorials around on how to build one, or modify whats supplied in the kit?
  9. I'm at my LHS a few times per week. Mostly just to browse and talk shop with the owner. I'll buy a kit once or twice a week to help support him. Even if I don't intend to build it. It'll just go to the top of the pile. Today I bought AMT's 61 Ford Ranchero Custom, I'll never build it. I always buy the 55/57 Sportsman kits when he has them in..2-3 at a time, as well as the 68 Hemi Dart, I must has 10 of those and 20+ of the 55 Sportsman. I think I buy some much stuff there just for the hell of it I get a discount on my kits, I always end up paying so close to the sticker price , I'm getting a $2-4 dollar discount.Sometimes I'll buy $20-$30 in paint. Sometimes, something will catch my eye and I'll grab it,like the Touch n Flow applicator with refill bottle and stand. I don't know how I went this long without it, my seams are so neat and clean now.
  10. I'd jump all over that MPC Super Dualie. I built it when I was a kid and loved it. Cant find that one anywhere.
  11. I shot this through the can on a 67 Vette today, and it came our rough as hell. It feels like sandpaper. I stripped the body, and shot it again. Same result. Is it supposed to have that kind of texture? If it's the size of the metal flake, it would more than likely clog my AB wouldn't it? I love the way it looks and it would probably make for a great base coat. Anyone who has used this one, feel free to share your experience with it, or if I'm doing something wrong, please do tell!
  12. Much more reasonable..I bough the Snake/Mongoose double kit last year from Dennis at Model Express for $30 bucks
  13. As always, incredible. I cant wait until my skills rival yourself and a few others here. Also, I never though of using graph paper to trace an outline of the body. Using a miter box as a jig is also pretty clever. Those 2 ideas alone to me are priceless!
  14. This could have been my Holy Grail, but he goes and pulls it? Why would he do that?
  15. I asked a similar question a while back...it may help as it helped me http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43146
  16. This is the Pin Vice I use. Push down and the bit rotates, it takes very little pressure and I havent broken a bit since I bought it. http://www.micromark.com/Micro-Hand-Drill,7045.html
  17. I think Paint Shop Pro is still free. It was back when I was doing graphics. Did almost everything PS did.
  18. There are just that many! I became very proficient using PS using those web sites. If i can..anyone can!
  19. I used Photoshop on a regular basis when I was doing web site graphics...there are literally a billion tutorials on the net for anything you might want to do, as well as sites dedicated to PS alone. Google Photoshop Tutorials. The hardest part will probably be finding the time to go through them all! --- Mike
  20. That's a fantastic movie..Coz was great in that one. I bought the movie from eBay a few years back along with Eat My Dust( trying to relive my youth?haha), intending to build that rig as well. Never got around to it..
  21. Sorry..I haven't been sleeping well lately..I get a little...weird when that happens heh
  22. I have a few Tamiya products and a few home made ones, I prefer Donn's nipples...they're sturdy, don't easily fall over and you can easily and quickly twist and turn them to get great coverage on your plastic.
