  7. I checked mine for the heck of it, and it doesn't have a fan either.there's an element at the bottom. It looks like yours, except with a smokey tint to the plastic..it's an old Ronco i think. Better I bough the Nesco than burning down my house though
  8. LOL $ponsor needed...that..Is a great little touch lol
  9. It just occurred to me as I posted...maybe scanning a decal, selecting the outter edges and pasting the shape into a new document? hehe I apologize for all the questions. I've always wanted to do my own full body slixx-like decals, but certain aspects seem so intimidating
  10. Chuck..that's fantastic..can I ask a question about your process? How do you get the upper top of the decal to go along the contour of the body line. I've tried scanning the side of the body and working it out in PS..but that doesnt seem to work. I assume you do that in PS..and dont cut the decal after it's been laid out on the body.
  11. A Spray bottle...great idea. that never occurred to me...thanks!
  12. I was invited to a hanging this weekend along with a really long and boring car ride. I was thinking of bringing a few painted bodies along with me for something to do along the way. A couple of them have some quite a few dust particles embedded in the paint so I'm wondering. Since i obviously won be able to use running water, will i be able to wash the colour out of these cloths later on?If not, will I have to consider colour transfer onto other paint jobs in the future?
  13. I have 2 rides and smartass, i know
  14. all i did was cut out the tray and left the outter part alone it does work from what i've read on SA's forum..a guy posted pics and even laid out instructions for me..but..i'm no electrician hehe as a matter of fact...this is MikeMC's setup!
  15. I'm always dropping parts due to the RA in my fingers. I just clean out my swiffer, change the pad and do a sweep. It always turn up in a big clump of cat hair and dust. nothing worse than cutting a piece off of the tree, only to see it shoot off across the room like a bullet, which happened not more than 5 minutes after this posting! WELL..2-3 minutes
  16. Hi Doc...I've been spending the day watching your videos. Especially the Airbrushing Basics series...I might have missed one though. Did you do one on laying down paint on your model in that series?
  17. yeah...and just when i thought i had all the kits i could possibly want...lol
  18. I dont see any way to scan that in and print it out. off of the top of my head you'd probably have to mask off the body and shoot the red then do the same for the blue, you could then print this out and apply it as a decal
  19. here are some nice references for wiring, plumbing and anything else you may need http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43977&hl=%2Bengine+%2Breference&fromsearch=1
  20. that's right...raster based programs are no good for resizing...they basically dont know how to re-size pixels correctly thats why you'll get pixelated blocky images. \vector based programs like illustrator or Corel draw use math when resizing , so you can scan or create your own..and re size them as big as you want with no pixelation. If you're scanning an image from a magazine..that's alittle/very tricky. you'll get whats called cross hatching. \the fibers in the paper will show up making the image useless. There are ways to reduce the effect such as adding a dark sheet of paper behind the page to be scanned. Then use the tools in PS to clean up the remaining crosshatching. In my experience though, you'll never be happy with the end result what is this decal you want replicated?
  21. Decals from a magazine picture? or that have already been put on a drag kit..
  22. PS is way too indepth of a software for anyone to teach here. it's professional level software that even alot of professionals dont know 100% Search google and unless things have changed since I used photoshop back in the v7 days..there are a billion and 1 sites that teach you how to do whatever you want http://psd.tutsplus.com/ is just one of a few dozen that comes to mind
  23. That was a great show...Leslie Nielson was hilarious, one of the funniest ever. Who would have though that someone could go from drama and romance to zany and pull it off
