  1. It seems I have always had trouble with Testors spray cans. I don't even look at the enamel sprays anymore - too many better alternatives. Their laqcuer line is better but I still find them difficult to control. They spray too much paint. Check out Tamiya and, my favorite spray cans, Duplicolor Color Match. For primer, Plastikote.
  2. Why would the solution to world peace start a fight?
  3. My interest is also in building model cars, but, I have learned just as much about modeling from other subjects than I have from just seeing model cars being built. In the end, it is modeling. As I stated in another post regarding 158, my initial reaction to the tractor was negative. Until I read the article and looked at the build. I hear and understand the premise of your complaint, but still like the latest issue.
  4. Very cool! I would like to see more tires available as well - thin line whitewalls, etc. I would buy this pack.
  5. Oh, I guess if you want to do it the easy way. I never noticed that. I can save a few seconds and some keyboard wear now.
  6. Two ways. Click on the member's name you would like to PM and then hit "send me a message" - right below the member's picture. Or, next to the member's name in a post, there is a little arrow/box. Click on that to view members profile and there is an option to PM member - little envelope at bottom of profile - hover mouse over it and it should say "PM this member".
  7. Here is a quick little build. 1955 Toyopet Crown from ARII. Wheels are from Nissan Gloria. Paint is duplicolor Pure White and Light Champagne Metallic. This is a really simple little kit meant to motorized - curbside with little detail on the chassis. Fit of the parts was a little crude and the "glass" was foggy and had/has some weird swirls. I added some custom Kimono fabric for the interior. Interior prior to body mounting
  8. That's a cool build. I see the top is chopped - is the body reverse sectioned? Or does it just look that way from the chop? I like it - a little different than other lowriders. Is that a custom decal on the sides? I have a low rider on my mind and would like to do something similar with a custom design.
  9. It will be worth the wait. I picked it up at the hobby shop today. I have to agree, it is "killer". One of the coolest articles is Chuck Doan's Fordson tractor. At first glance I thought, oh, another rusty model with overdone mud applied to the "wheels". Upon close inspection, though, I realized what an awesome job Chuck did on the weathering and accumulated gunk on the tractor. The cast iron finish on the parts looks absolutely stunning - there is little difference between the scale version and a real life tractor - it's that good. I can see a pair of overalls wearing the paint and metal in the stamped pan seat - outstanding. Add the accumulated grease and oil and it is one impressive build. A lot of great techniques in this article alone. Great issue all the way around. I am getting used to this monthly delivery! Thanks MCM crew!
  10. Looks great - I like models that are hard to categorize! Nice combination of wheels and paint and the carbon fiber decals are cool in the engine compartment.
  11. Nice collection. I like clean builds and these all look great. It's nice to see a stock '49 too. Thanks for posting.
  12. Looking good. I like the Mini engine - such a cool little package. These cars were really great - roomy, sporty, and, to me, great looking. I saw an MK 1 at my girls' school a few weeks ago and they thought it was awesome - my second grader is as tall as the roof! Watch where you mount the coil on the generator - a little too far forward and it will hit on the body when you mate the two sub assemblies.
  13. Very nice Mike. I like the color and overall look of the car.
  14. Depends on what look you're after. A black wash is a must regardless of sheen. If the grill is matte finish on the real truck, just spray with a flat clear. Or you can strip the chrome and spray with a metallic paint to closer represent the grill you're trying to replicate. A picture would help if you have specific look you are going for.
  15. Um, China? According to my quick search the People's Liberation Army Air Force has 2500+ aircraft and 330,000 personnel. That would be number 2, and probably growing. Why does Sweden have the 8th (or ninth if you count China) largest air force?
  16. I really like all aspects of this build. The colors are very cool. Interior looks fantastic.
  17. Very cool idea. You can get the correct wheels for Mr. Bean's car in the Austin Mini kit.
  18. Can't argue with the results. Looks beautiful.
  19. Is this the same transporter? Museum Collections Mercedes High Speed Transporter. Resin, PE 1/24.
  20. Isn't there a resin version of that in 1/24? I think it was a "Museum Masterpiece" or something like that. It is cool and unique.
  21. It will be molded in white plastic - that's nice.
  22. Round 2 is rereleasing the 1/16 "Street Charger". I have not seen the previous releases - is this kit something to be excited about?
  23. That looks good. Sometimes you have go with 1/32 for subjects - but it's worth it. 1/32 isn't too small.
  24. Orange Crate - cool. 64 GTO again? The last reissue is still around for cheap.
