  1. Very nice model. I like 1/32 scale kits - different subjects and they don't take up much space!
  2. I have to completely disagree with most, if not all, of this paragraph. I am the father of three school age children. They study all the basics and have greater skill in most subjects than I ever did at the same level. Yes, anectodal, but I work closely with my kids at their elementary school and can see the teaching methods and support that schools provide - they are in no way "suffering". However, now that the Internet allows you to actually see the ignorance of a greater number of people, it SEEMS that there are more of them. Ignorance has always been and will always around - it just hasn't always been so evident.

    Great looking model Doug!
  4. This was the runner up? That is a sweet truck. The winner was decent, but brushed on rust?...eh, not. Not sure what was going on there...
  5. The unlimited "car" is a spaceship of some sort? Marginal build quality, too. Lost a little respect for the contest...
  6. ...and I'm ordering... Awesome idea and execution. A need for sure.
  7. Ugh! That thing looks like it was made with Play-doh.
  8. Agree. H2 was bad. H3 was beyond bad.
  9. I am glad people are not basing things on personal bias and simply evaluating sound design principles
  10. If I was fighting a war, a fire, or working SAR, it's all good. Daily driver? Really? Plus the H1 was a real vehicle. Further incarnations are just ugly manifestations/wanna-bes.
  11. I get embarrassed just seeing somebody else driving a Hummer.
  12. Smokey Bear celebrated, or would have, his 69th yesterday!
  13. The Murano is interesting - I like the concept a lot. The execution is off, and price point way off, but a convertible crossover? I give them credit for the courage. The Kia Soul is a very unattractive vehicle.
  14. Somebody "estimating" mpg is worthless base for comparison. I am not saying that the Element gets good mileage, but most people don't actually do the simple math to figure out exactly what their car gets for mpg - and depending on their bias, tend to over or under estimate. It is an ugly car. Also, this list wasn't the writer opinion. It was based on a survey - and all surveys are flawed to one degree or another depending on questions and answer choices, who they called, even what time of day, so...
  15. I hear ya...I'd be more embarrassed driving a Cadillac Escalade than an Element
  16. #1 was the Smart Car ForTwo - a totally stupid looking car that is small enough to be useless while not really getting that many mpg.
  17. "Produced from modern-engineered tooling" is not the same as "new tooling". This is a rerun.
  18. Yes, looks like Eucalyptus and right drive - down under. Eucalyptus will sprout and grow if topped - my guess is they topped a tree, set the car on the flat spot, and the branches sprouted out around it. They grow relatively fast too.
  19. That era of AMT kits are pretty nice kits too...
  20. True, Art - the Pinto kits, especially the small bumper years, bring some high prices. Vegas, too, typically sell for higher than average prices. Pacers, though, haven't seen the same demand and can be had for "regular" kit prices. The Gremlin bubble burst a bit with Round 2's releases.
  21. Yes. Funny thing, sometimes you see these kits listed on eBay for high BIN prices - search the completed lists, they sell for $10!!
  22. Some kits are rare and sought after, making them expensive to purchase. Other kits are rare and, well, not so much in demand. Here is one I found for a pittance, and see it occasionally for sale for the same or less. This is not a re-box of the MPC kit either - it's a modified version of the Revell Escort XR-3. Anybody else have any?
  23. I have no idea. Researching online brings up a plethora of choices but few original photos of the car - it's a bit of a quandary, though. There was a "restored" version at auction, but there was no verification it was authentic. It does look close to this replica...more HERE That eye loop/tie down system would be cool to replicate in scale!
  24. The top four pics are new sprues. The rest I believe are straight from the SE version (was the police radio there before (pic 4, right side). Frame, body, tires not pictured - same as earlier release. No stock option.
