  1. With my lack of any real budget I rarely ever get to buy anything for myself...bills,payments,etc. take it all before there is a chance to and they come first here too. I normally shop at garage sales for models,gas-oil-auto related stuff when possible. The last kit I bought was around two years ago...even though I had a little extra left over I felt guilty afterwards...
  2. I have a small but noticeable problem with some of the kits these days....though there great kits it would be nice if white wall tires were included if there shown on the box arts...being a factory stock kind of builder it matters at least to me anyway. Really happy there starting to include original accessories for building options like they use to....it also promotes the sale of another kit to use them on.
  3. Can you imagine how much fun it was to build these cars....and drive them?...LOL...
  4. I have gone through the same stigma from others before too. My wife never understood the love of the hobby life but women like doing crafts?...so whats the difference right? My wife now understands to a point what all it can take to build and the work that goes into it....its a art form with a high level of skill to make a few pieces of plastic look like a replica of the real thing or ones version of. My 69 Plymouth 4door wagon I made under my photobucket here in my profile took a month to do just the body alone...she was very enlightened at the amount of real work involved to do it starting from a 68 GTX kit. #1...build for yourself it only has to make you the builder happy. #2...never let anyone keep you from what you love to do. #3...modeling is how the real car manufacturers come up with the new body styles of real cars/trucks. #4...its not just for kids but all ages...build because you love to.
  5. I like it..! Maybe some grease or oil residue..?
  6. 1970 to 81 Trans Am 69,70,73,74 GTO 70 Plymouth Superbird and others
  7. Looks cool.... I like building the 1 tons but always have too much trouble finding wheels and tires like from the Ford dually kit.
  8. It does look better without all the cheapo plastic panels added but to me its still a small little truck that could only haul the same as a normal cars trunk could...bet it couldn't pull much ether?
  9. Looking pretty cool....always been tempted to try to build a crane truck.
  10. I dig them...the old brass cars looked classy to me.
  11. Looks to me the closest thing will be from a old 1968 Plymouth Fury 4door police car by Johan...might not be too fun to find.
  12. I dig that one and the engine stand set up...very cool.
  13. Congrats Dave buddy!...hope you all have many many more years of happiness together...
  14. Sad to hear this I hope he gets it back and the criminals pay for their actions....they never think of how their actions affect there victims. As many of you know last Christmas my house was broken into and most of my 40+ years of collection/building plus many of my dads oldies(old kits, promos and build ups were stolen or damaged...its a devastating thing to go through.
  15. Tom...I am the same way on this myself...if there too far gone to restore they become model projects and then have another life. Me I love restoring/collecting promos...almost more than building kits if that is possible...? I am always on the hunt for more of them and promo like snap kits.
  16. As usual your work amazes me Tom....wish I had your skills Id build a few myself.
  17. Memories are priceless Kerry....there never gone as long as hes in your heart...remember all the good times together I am sure they meant a lot to him and you all too. Your friends and family will help in this time buddy...let them.
  18. I have sun glasses...and I know how to use them...
  19. I use to have a dedicated work area till the wife decided to start storing things in it while I am still trying to repair the damage the people that raided it done.... . And the wife asks me why I don't get more done on it...???... .
