Need Help
disabled modeler replied to truckerswife1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree with the guys you all should join in here with us. Me I am disabled too so I can relate to your situation and his...it is a uneasy transition to have to make but as long as he has purpose a good outlook will follow you both.... -
I build for Fun, I build for myself.
disabled modeler replied to Pete J.'s topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Remember....the build only has to make the builder happy in the end. Sure we all want to build better than we do now always striving for excellence with our work. Me I build for myself and to pass all the time I have to kill and for the love of building...in the end nothing else matters really. I like to build adding all the detail I can to one and like to do the simple builds-curbsides,etc. there all fun to build and only limited by ones imagination or abilities to do so. I have numbness and dexterity problems in my hands on and off so I can relate to not feeling like a tougher build at times....make yourself happy first. -
I wonder if the person would think the designer of his car was one being the model builder designs one from clay to start with? Modelers have a larger more important affect on the world than many know. There not perverts but highly skilled people most very kind caring people...never judge a book by its cover..it might just become your best friend or help you get your car jump started when you need it. Bikers, modelers, train people bring big bucks into the economy...sure there is bad apples but there is in any field, age or gender. Me myself have had others look at me funny...I just ask them if they need any help...shuts them up and they walk away or they ask what is on their minds. Yeah the guy your talking about has issues of his own.

Me I am a 350ci guy one can build or do about anything with them if desired...327ci many were performance use better heads,etc.models(68 Impala 300hp 327 for instance)...they ran very well in a heavy car. Vintage 1974 350ci engines from pickups, suburbans, etc. most had 4 bolt main barring caps and bored 0.30 over sized made a 355ci which was a great power combination with a mild or large cam.

Agreed Carl....not everyone has the time or resources or skills yet to do many things they would to improve their work building. Another issue is some are disabled or have physical issues that can keep them from doing many of these ideas to improve their work even though they would if they could. My suggestion to improving ones work and builds is its not a race take your time...the build only has to make the builder happy in essence. Me I strive to build better as I can...best advise I ever got is to treat every part as if it were a model itself.
