  1. Lucky you...the originals will be the ones capable of being built as a window van...me I think that version is much more cool!
  2. I hear ya John...been there too...have faith buddy.
  3. Words cant even begin to describe how COOL that is!!!!....I love it...!!!! I had a 1970 new car dealership diorama started with a showroom but will have to start over from scratch again...bummer.
  4. Now there you go John...not all people are uncaring....most are but not all.
  5. Man that is a tough situation but to me Id think the loss of the loved one is much more important than the money, etc. long as there is enough to cover their final expenses....not that I really have anything but I told my wife if there is any problems once my time is up remind everyone what I said...if there is put everything in a pile and burn it all make them watch if its apparent its a greed thing. Dont get me wrong if someone wants something of special interests to them that is fine and I understand it completely. I have some of my dads stuff and it means the world to me but would rather have my dad instead of his stuff. Excuse me but I just cant stand greed...it has its way of destroying families and friends, etc. Me I have not much but will gladly share what I do have if the situation calls for it. As many of you do I have almost no budget but I have sent things to others for free just to help out...is not that what were supposed to do...help one another if we can. When my uncle and aunt passed away my other aunt refused to talk with anyone from the family while she picked through their home and had several roll-off trash containers filled with their stuff and passed lives...now she wants to reconnect with the family she tossed out when it suited her....greed...she showed her true colors she can live with it now...after all it was her choice.
  6. Thanks John... Na don't worry about it buddy...some of us just have had worse luck than others...and no I did not get anything from them for the accident and injuries they had almost no insurance so it did not last but part of that day and nothing to get otherwise. Hope you get to feeling better soon...aint no fun that is for sure. I have always built models...just more important than ever now to pass the time by. Hard part is my disability income is very very small but at least its something. My conditions are expected to only get worse over time and have...makes building fun sometimes...LOL... but I just don't build when I am at my bad days. I am sure there are many others out there worse than me too.
  7. I hear ya Jesse... I have a good friend that owned one was thinking to make one for him. I also have been looking for some models, parts, etc. to build some of our family owned cars/trucks too...its not easy to find them or what the ones I do have need. I could be wrong but I think they made a factory stock kit as an annual and a promo too...wish I could help.
  8. John... in 1996 I was in a really bad car accident on my way to work. I was stopped at a red light and got hit from behind on only one side at about 60mph in a 30 zone...my car went across the street cutting a power pole off. I was told the first cop that showed up went and got a sheet out of his trunk thinking I was gone...took them 30 minutes to cut the roof off and get me out of the car. The medics shocked me twice on the way to the hospital. I had broken back, neck, blood clots in my lungs, broken sternum and a bused heart....now have 15 pieces of metal in my lower back and a plate and screws in my neck...24/7 pain they can do nothing for from nerve damage. I have good neighbors in the area but there not much better shape than me. Our truck is a 4x4 84 Chevy pickup..thinking of getting a snow blade for it if I can make or find one sometime...then I can do mine and the others here in the area I live where there is a lot of elderly and disabled people that just cant afford it...figure i could do theirs for free then.
  9. Id love to do that myself....its nice to have a odd or different car in the collection. Have no idea of what might work on it unless maybe you can find an old original chassis somewhere?
  10. I know what you mean John...cant get anyone to do it around here unless I pay big bucks for it and that is not happening. Me I have pain all the time but cant do it myself anyway. We have a couple of kids that do it here in the neighborhood but they charge a stupid rate for not much at all....shovel width path 20 foot long and they want 40.oo to do it????....I am not against young kids making some money for work but seems like quite a bit for just that to me so I turn them down.
  11. Rob...That Firebird one is SWEET!!!....I had that as a kid! COOL!
  12. I love land yachts ...! Very nice...!
  13. Hey...that would make a nice tool for painting engines
  14. Sorry to hear that but glad your going to start over. I am going through a similar situation here myself a couple of days before Christmas my house was broken into...my model room was pretty much emptied 70% or so and others trashed...I am trying to make a comeback too.
  15. Id LOVE to see these available in 1/25th scale plastic or resin!!!!
  16. Sean... I like it!!! very nice work backdating this old truck. Cant hardly wait to see it when your done...keep up the great work!
  17. That is right Pete... I have a very very small disability income myself and while it is not easy to come up with funds to buy this or that I look on building something as a challenge to see what can be done with what I have at the time...some of my favorite builds are ones made from extra parts, etc. like my 69 Pltmouth 4door wagon in my photobucket for instance. Though its not 100% correct it still looks pretty cool and it took a lot of work but was a fun build and occupied some time for me. Second I don't mind rebuilding what I can find at garage sales,etc...its a great source to find things if one is patient and willing to go and look...I have got some great deals at them. While a lack of a real budget can be tough it just makes the accomplishment more rewarding in the end.
  18. I love 4doors and wagons of the 60s....nice!
  19. While I can relate to a very low budget first hand myself...I guess the guy understands rare items are not cheap...a deal on one would be good but there will be some inherent cost to get what there looking for. One of mine is when you have something and someone wants it they think there stuff is worth its weight in gold and yours is caned dog food or something? Hey Ill deal with almost anyone on things but really? Its pretty apparent some here and else where have a better budget to work with than some...one of the reasons I do a lot of trades for my wants/needs it fits my budget or lack of. if i had the funds and found something I was wanting badly Id pay the price to get it...I have also traded a few kits, etc. for one I wanted...I think it would be great if the companies could tool up some old kits but understand they have budgets too...most are pretty reasonable for what they offer...some...?
  20. Very nice!... I have seen things like this in 1 to 1 all too many times around here...very realistic work!
  21. I need a useable frame for the large scale bike kit(L A Street chopper)....need badly appreciate any help have auto related models, parts, etc. for trades...send your wants. PM me... Thanks
  22. Larry buddy...I see it too its one of the reasons we have my nephew and his dad living with us here. His future EX wants to be a 20 year old bar hop again and only cares about the money she can squeeze out of my nephews dad-wifes brother. She kicked him out in the dead of winter with nothing so he stays with us now or till he can get a place of his own...the nephew is here most of the time anyway he cramps his moms style I guess...shes useless.
