Id build an old kit any day....Johans included...love them even though they require a bit more work to clean up and test fit at times. I loved the older kits as a kid because of what they were of....late 60s Pontiac,Chrysler,Chevy,AMC,Cadillac,Dodge, etc. I could not care less if they are curbside or not its the car/truck it represents that means something to me....the body style and memories of building when I was young and fit simpler times. Chrstian...Ill take all the Johan stuff I can get...LOL...

disabled modeler replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I try to get in as much time as I can but many times other things get in the way and put things on hold...bummer. -
Great story about the model...always great to hear of them not going to waste. Nothing is too far gone to be of no use at all.....I have built many cool models and restored many with what many would thing of as useless junk....all you have to do to find out is look at my photobucket here under my profile. The 69 Plymouth 4door wagon was once thought of as nothing but junk by another but I seen some potential hiding in it yet. never toss anything out...just send it to me if you want to....I will find a good use for it.

disabled modeler replied to FatManScaleDesigns's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am very sorry it happen to you man...love to catch someone trying here. Before my accident I had my own auto repair shop at my house same thing happen when we went for a vacation...lost thousands in equipment, parts, supplies, tools as well as damage to customer cars which I had to pay for due to we had just gotten it started up. Now I have a used 24/7 time lapse photo recorder....and something that goes bang for them. We also had things that could never be replaced taken or destroyed...feel for you all. -

Looks like a Johan 64 Dodge to me...I am kind of a Johan nut...LOL... -

I build to pass all the time i have to occupy besides that its what I like to do. I build not to impress or show....only to make me happy with them and the results of the work. I was forced into entering one contest by an uncle in Kansas once got second place was enough for me. I also restore the ones of my dads when I can find the parts they need...that is a labor of love.
