  1. I have been working on the Porsche by adding the front and rear suspensions and adding to the engine itself. Is this engine turbocharged? The interior is next and I may have to go out and get a can of flat brown spray paint or I will have to use my airbrush.
  2. Thanks Mathias!
  3. As I fired up my computer this morning, I worked on my Porsche 911 this morning. I installed the motor into the chassis along with the rear shocks. A test fit showed the ignition coil sitting above the hood line, so I remounted the coil lower on the air fan. I still have other parts to paint and install on the chassis around the engine.
  4. Thank you everyone! My late friend, Barry Fadden had a '66 Chevelle SS and this is my version of it. He painted his a dark maroon color with Cragar SS mags.
  5. I am nearly done with the Porsche engine. After looking at several Google photos over the last couple of days, I think this is how it goes. This is also a curious location for the ignition coil on top of the air fan. The instructions don't tell the name of the part, so I am flying blind here and I had to manufacture my own ignition coil.
  6. Looking good John! Keep it going!
  7. I have been working on Will Trent's Porsche 911 Targa. First up is I drilled 6 holes in the cylinder heads and one large hole in the distributor. Next will be the ignition coil. The single wire is for the coil to the distributor and the bundle of three wires are for the cylinder heads. The Targa top has been completed, but I'm not completely happy with it and may rework it again. The body is in the midst of sanding mold lines.
  8. Nice looking LeMans, Gary! Thanks! My burnout is very real and I am trying to get over it. I have read other attempts to get over a burnout and have taken some of them to heart. All I can say is that I am working on it!
  9. Thank you Jim, Jeremy, Donato, Lee, Terry and David!
  10. I built this years ago and I chose to not paint the body or the interior. Just build it with Cragar SS mags, some wiring and brake lines.
  11. I have finished painting and assembling the engine. I wasn't sure about wiring the engine, so in the end, I didn't.
  12. There is some controversy about the year of the Porsche. In an episode, Will Trent is saying that it is a 1973 and series Executive Producer and book writer Karin Slaughter says that it is a 1979. Based on my research, I'm going with a 1973 version as I will try to convert the Revell 1984 model to a 1973-ish Porsche.
  13. Since my '66 GTO is nearly done, I can start on my newest project. A TV/Movie Car that I call Will Trent's Porsche 911 Targa. There is some controversy around what year it is as Will Trent has referred to it as a 1973 and Executive Producer and Novelist Karin Slaughter has said that it is a 1979. I am using the Revell kit no. 85-4527 which is a 1984 version, so I will be attempting to make it a 1973 if I can. I will also include the words on the left side of the Porsche-Rat, Snitch and Traitor. Let's see what I can do...
  14. I have been away for the last 2 1/2 months undergoing knee surgery and suffering some type of modelers burnout. I have been building constantly since I retired some 6 1/2 years ago and I got up to 5 projects on the bench at one time. Enough is enough! I've got to relieve some of this pressure off of myself. Yesterday afternoon, I ordered a Revell Porsche 911 Targa to build the car from TV's Will Trent. That seems to have restarted my resurgence into the modeling world and I decided to clearcoat my '66 GTO that has been sitting in the paintbooth since the end of June. I'll let this set for a couple of days to dry and harden. Have a look!
  15. Looking great, Gil! Watching for more!
  16. Looking good, John!
  17. I built the hardtop and as I went to foil it, I noticed a vinyl roof on top. Your convertible looks great!
  18. Excellent job on your Impala!
  19. Thanks Sonny!
  20. Thanks Bob!
  21. Thanks Carl and Jeremy! Hopefully, I'll find some time tomorrow to clearcoat the GTO!
  22. I have been working on the '66 GTO off and on for a while now and the foiling is finally done. Not sure if I'm burnt out or what, but it is taking me longer to finish a model car. Foiling is done and now it is on to clearcoat and then final assembly.
  23. I have this kit and I was hoping to build a Burke's Law Rolls Royce. The misaligned front fenders is making me doubt using that kit even if it is the only one readily available. I'll be watching your build!
  24. Thank you Dominik!
