I wanted to add power steering to my 'Cuda but I didn't have the correct belt assembly in my parts box. I improvised by addiing part of another belt assemlby to the kit fan belt. It's not 100% accurate, but it'll do for me. The distributor and cylinder heads have been drilled out for plug wires. More to come.....

I have just finished the interior. Have a look. The body has been wet sanded and received another coat of Italian Red paint. A fine polishing and more motor work is next. More to come.....

Thanks for the pictures, Nick. Other than the exterior/interior colors, it's not what I'm building. But, I do appreciate it!

Knowing that the front suspension will put the nose of the car up into the tree tops, I went ahead and cut off the spindles. I used some small squares of styrene to shim the spindles to make up for the difference from cutting them off. I mounted the spindles about 1/8 inch high on the suspension uprights which will lower the nose of the 'Cuda. I then realized that I needed to shim the front valance to make up the difference from removing the lower fenders. The motor is partially assembled and painted. I found a single 4-barrel intake that may have come from a big block Ford. It dosen't look too bad just as long as you don't look at it too long. More to come.....

I'll be using a set of Magnum 500's for this build. The completed car will look like the Hemi 'Cuda, only it will be a convertible.

Last year I built a '71 Hemi 'Cuda using the Revell Hemi 'Cuda Street Machine kit. I tried out making some changes that seemed to work quite well and the 'Cuda came out better than I had expected! I wanted to build a sister car to the Hemi 'Cuda using the Revell Hemi 'Cuda Convertible kit (AKA "Nash Bridges" Hemi 'Cuda Convertible). I'll replace the Hemi with the 340 from the Challenger T/A kit. I have enough MCW Hemi Orange paint left over from the Hemi 'Cuda build for this project. The interior will be white with black accents. I'll be using the '70 'Cuda hockey stick decals from Keith Marks. I have a twin scoop hood from Time Machine Resin. I've started by cutting off the lower fenders from the grille. I've glue them to the front fenders on the body. I'll putty the seams to hide them. I have always preferred a duck tail spoiler over a wing spoiler since the wing looks tacked on. The '69 Charger Daytona is the exception to that. Here's a picture of "Big Brother" Hemi. More to come.....

new special edition pink challenger??
mrmike replied to Jared Roach's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I do believe that the new "Impact" colors are a pearl. I was looking at a new Challenger SRT-8 yesterday in B5 Blue which is now a pearl color. I don't think they listed that color as an "Impact" color though. -
Yeah, that's what I meant to say! Let's just call it a brain fart! Nick, thanks for pics! I have the March 2010 issue of Mopar Muscle magazine which as a great article on a '66 Barracuda Formula S that I am using for reference.

I used Model Master Acryl Teal for mine which very close to the picture I found. http://image.automobilemag.com/f/26181191+w750+st0/1001_03_z+1969_aMC_hurst_sC_rambler+engine.jpg My SC/Rambler 390. -
I have decided to take the plunge and tackle a resin kit. The kit is MCW's '66 Barracuda. I happen to have the MPC Hemi Under Glass kit and decided to compare the to bodies and I found them to be very similar especially the chrome pieces. I swapped out the unplated pieces for the chrome plated grille, bumpers, and taillights. I will be painting the kit with Tamiya's TS-8 Italian Red. The body was cleaned and prepped and got a coat of primer. This kit comes with 13" wheels, tires, and wheel covers. I gave the tires white stripes. The motor is partially assembled and painted with Model Master Chrysler Engine Red lacquer. I will drill the heads out for plug wires. More to come.....

I have finished my Mustang GT and it is posted Under Glass. Thansk for looking and commenting!

This is my completed Mustang GT with Pegasus 23" Chrome T's, painted with Model Master Grabber Orange lacquer, and decals from the '70 Boss 302 Mustang.

I had a few minutes tonight and she's got wheels! More to come.....

Thanks Greg! This is coming along really well! Last night, I made a copy of the strut tower brace that is in the Shelby GT-H kit. I used 1/16 round rod and some sheet styrene. I think it came out pretty good. I could have spent a little more time on the mounting plates though. More to come.....

I think the 23's will just barely fit. It's gonna be tight! I took the airbox from my '06 Shelby GT-H and took some measurements and transposed them to a piece of sheet styrene and bent it to shape. I cut the kit airbox off from the tube and will use a resin K&N air filter from Scale Dreams. A mock up of the new air intake. More to come.....

Thanks guys! After looking at the posted pics, I went back to the bench and looked at the Mustang some more, thinking that something wasn't right. The stripes didn't look right against the rear fender flare. I took my hobby knife with a new sharp blade and scored the stripe at the flare. I used a piece of tape on the unwanted stripe and pulled it off the body. I am in the process of modifying the Pegasus wheels to fit under the fenders. More to come.....

I've added the decals from Revell's '70 Boss 302 with a little modification to the decals. Have a look! I'll clean it up and clearcoat the body and hood. More to come.....

I asked these 3 fellows to help, but the one in the yellow shirt kept telling me to beam him down to the planet, the blue shirted guy with the funny ears kept telling me that building a 1/25 scale replica of a real motor vehicle was "illogical", the the red shirted guy kept talking something about changing the laws of physics, whatever that means!

Thanks guys! I finished the interior last night. While searching for parts for my next project, i found these side louvers from a Revell '65 Mustang, ao I grabbed my can of paint and painted them. I was recently told that I was a brave man for modifying a freshly painted body. Well, I did it again! I elongated the window opening slightly to fit the louver. I think it looks pretty good! More to come.....

This is my completed Daytona. Paint is Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue with a white interior. The motor is a 426 dual quad Hemi with a 4-speed trans.

I made a grille for the Mustang to represent a grille minus the horse emblem using 3/64 Diamond photoetch. I also flocked the interior floor. More to come.....

Thank you Greg! The wife is in bed with a cold and the house is quiet so I found myself in my hobby room working on my Mustang before I turn in for the night. I finished the chassis minus the rotors which I'll install later when the Mustang is nearly complete. The interior is next! More to come.....
-
Some progress! The motor, radiator, and exhaust system have been installed. I'll start on the suspension next. More to come.....

If I remember correctly, this hood scoop came from the AMT 1987 Ford Mustang GT kit. It is considerable smaller than the Boss 429 hood scoop. Here's a pic of the Mustang GT I built a couple of years ago with the Boss 429 hood scoop. As you can see, it is considerable larger.

Thanks guys! Brian, I'll start the suspension when the rest of the model is almost complete. I like having the interior and chassis in place when I start modifying the suspension. This will give me a true sense of the car height when mocking up the wheels and tires inside the wheelwells and fenders.
