  1. A slightly used and abused Land Rover Series 90.
  2. Thank you Dominik and Daniel! I'm rather happy with the way this Escalade turned out! From the grille to the wheels and the dual exhaust-I'm happy!
  3. I spent a little time this afternoon working on the DB4. I didn't like the way the exhaust tips splayed out , so I carefully moved the right inwards towards the left and broke the tip off completely. A little model glue and and little pressure and the tip is back on the silencer (British for muffler) and it looks better to my eye. Due to the way the hood scoop was molded open on the hood, I added a piece of styrene to the opening to mimic how the hood should actually be on the outside looking at the front of the scoop. One of the things I don't like about opening doors is the way they can sag and stay open when you don't want them to. I added a couple of rare earth magnets to each side of the Aston to help keep the doors closed. More to come...
  4. Thank you Mattias! Sometimes a subject will come along and the boxart will have the right color that just appeals to you. The Escalade boxart appealed to me and I just had to paint it that color.
  5. Thank you JT and David! I'm glad to hear that, David! I try to keep the stories entertaining.
  6. With some careful sanding and filing, it is possible, but the grille will become very weak, IMHO.
  7. Michael, I have given up trying to find an answer. Lock or delete this thread, please.
  8. I have for some time now been infatuated with certain British cars and trucks and British Police vehicles. I love Aston Martins, Jags, Morgans, MGs, Triumphs and other British marques. In the past year I have built an Aston Martin DB4, Jaguar Mk II Saloon, Morgan 4/4 and a Ford Transit Mk II as well as curbsides of different manufacturers. I have also built several AC Cobras over the years. My new project is the Italeri Range Rover Police Kit #3661. This is another curbside kit that will be painted with Tamiya TS-26 Pure White with a grey interior. My research has not shown any 2-way radio placement, but I am going to install a resin 2-way radio and a whip antenna. The radio was given to me free and the whip antenna comes from the Revell Ford Expedition SSP. More to come...
  9. Thank you Chris and Jeremy!
  10. Thank you Jeremy and Keith! Jeremy, there is a slight lip around the windows and an even shallower lip around the two side and rear dark tinted windows. I choose not to try my luck around them.
  11. Thank you Mike! I kind of expected less activity on this thread, but that wasn't the case. I would call Testors, but I don't want to jinx my "war" with them. I found a can of paint stuck to the bottom my paint drawer with zero propellant in it. I have a case number for my email and I (hopefully) will get a response from them soon. I have had no problems with any other of my paint cans from other manufacturers that reside in my paint drawers.
  12. Thank you Curtis! I never cared for black trim all that much, so I went with chrome and silver.
  13. Exactly! If you don't know the answer, why answer the question with something that doesn't? This is something that I have known for a long time. The more people on a page or forum will answer any question with any sort of answer that doesn't apply to the question asked.
  14. This is my 2006 Cadillac Escalade painted with Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red with a Tamiya AS-15 Tan (USAF) interior, raised suspension and Pegasus Phat Daddies wheels and tires.
  15. The Story McNally arrives at Damian's Beacon Hill home and sees Attorney Wilmot Jackson's Lincoln MKS parked behind Damian's Escalade. He parks up the street and walks back to Damian's condo and hops the fence into 10 inches of new fallen snow from a storm the night before. He slides in the narrow space between the two houses and goes over to the back door. He unlocks the door and quietly enters the house leaving a trail of snow behind him. With his SIG Sauer P227 drawn, he peeks into the living room where Jackson has Damian on his knees with his hands tied behind his back and aiming his Glock at his head. He aims his SIG at Jackson and yells for him to drop his gun. Jackson says he won't and for McNally to leave before he shoots Damian with his Glock. McNally says if he leaves, Damian will be killed anyway and he is not leaving. Not sure what to do, Jackson turns to shoot McNally with the Boston PI returning fire and killing the corrupt attorney. He kicks away the Glock, feels for a pulse on Jackson and finds none. Then he releases Damian and pulls out his cellphone to call Lt. Det. Troy at Homicide. He ends the call and hears the sound of sirens in the distance heading for the condo. When the Crime Scene Unit arrives, McNally unloads the SIG and hands it to the Crime Scene Unit detective and gets his receipt while Attorney Jackson's Glock is unloaded and secured in an evidence box. McNally will carry his Smith & Wesson Model 66-2 .357 Magnum until his SIG is returned to him. It was determined that Attorney Jackson feared that Damian would end his business relationship with him once his divorce was finalized and the truth about him would come out. A few days later, McNally gets a call from Capt. Frank Bladen of Homicide asking if he'll join him for a beer at the Stripes and Badges Bar, a cop watering hole near BPD. McNally says he'll will and will be there shortly. Always a good thing to share a beer with the local PD. The Build I have finished my Cadillac Escalade and it is posted in Under Glass. Thanks!
  16. Well, once again this thread has gone off the rails. I was looking for concrete evidence of Testors cancelling a paint line and all I got was conjecture and people favorites. While I do appreciate everyones responces, what has been posted doesn't give me the information I was looking for or information that leads me to a conclusion.
  17. The Story McNally contacts Lt. Det. Adam Troy on the phone. “Lt. Troy here.” “Hey Adam, its Mc. I never asked. What killed Tina Leavitt?” “Hang on a second and I’ll look at the file…a ten millimeter round possibly from a Glock.” “Where was she shot?” “Once in the chest and once in the head. It was quite the mess.” “Okay Adam! Thanks.” McNally parks his Jeep near Wilmot Jackson’s house and he goes around to the back of the house. Satisfied that nobody was home, he breaks into the house and searches it. He finds the case for a Glock G29 in the study, but the case is empty. A search of his desk finds a partial box of 10 mm rounds. Out of a box of 50 rounds, 20 are missing. Where’s the Glock? It’s got to be with Jackson! He leaves the house just as he found it and locks the back door. Back in his Jeep, he thinks about who could be terminated next. Him? Charlie? Damian! It’s got to be Damian. Damian seems to be the only other person who could finger Jackson as the killer. If he can find Wilmot’s Glock and have it tested to see if it was the weapon used to kill Tina. He calls Charlie and she is at the office. “Charlie, it’s Mc! Get a security guard to watch over you until I call you back.” “Why?” “Wilmot Jackson is most likely our killer. Stay put until you hear from me!” “Okay Mc. I'll stay here until you call!” McNally calls Damian next. “Hi! I can’t take you call…” a recorded message and McNally waits to reply. “Damian, this is McNally! Don’t let Wilmot Jackson into your house! I’m on my way over now,” he says before ending the call. The Build I got the windows installed and then I joined the body, interior and chassis together. I still have to install the head and taillights, side mirrors, roof rack, running boards and decals. McNally will return...
  18. Thanks Jeremy! The Escalade is in the dehydrator for the next 8+ hours for a good drying session.
  19. The Story Monday morning arrives and Wilmot Jackson is standing in the hallway waiting for his client, Damian Williston to arrive. He sees his client walking down the corridor accompanied by Attorney Charlotte Rothmann and young Attorney Sean Traeger who works for Charlie. “Ms. Rothmann, what is the meaning of this,” Attorney Jackson asks. Damian says, “Wilmot Jackson, your services are no longer needed. You are fired.” “Stand aside Mr. Jackson, or I’ll have you arrested for interference with an officer of the court,” says Charlie as she pushes her way past Jackson with Sean right behind her as they head into the courtroom. By the afternoon, Damian and his ex-wife were legally divorced. The property in Brookline was given to his ex. The two smaller businesses will be sold and Damian will keep his software business, his home on Beacon Hill and some of his personal belongings from Brookline. With the divorce out of the way, Charlie can concentrate on his murder defense, should Damian be arrested for it. It most likely will not come to that. The Build I clearcoated the Escalade this afternoon with two coats of Tamiya TS-13 Gloss Clear. I'll add another coat or two later. McNally will return...
  20. Tonight I decided to get the engine partially assembled in prep for paint. I displayed the intake manifold on top of the engine without any glue. It will be painted aluminium. The 302 CID engine with the sprue containing the other parts that'll need painting on the sprue. More to come...
  21. Thanks Bill! I prefer the '69 over the '70. There's something to be said about first editions...
  22. My new project for the Classic Plastic Model Club Club Challenge. The '69 Mustang Boss 302! My paint will be Testors GTS Blue Pearl, but that may change. I have Tamiya TS-86 Pure Red that I may use or several other blue paints at my disposal. More to come...
  23. Thank you Cliff!
  24. Okay guys, we are getting off track here! This doesn't present me with any concrete evidence of whether Testors is doing away with their automtive paints or not and whether it is enamel or lacquer base.
  25. For one or two small items, I usually just brush paint them with the metalizer. Produces the same effect.
