Hi there guys and here we go again. I have the restoring bug and next on the bench is a van that was in a huge box of junk ( I guess kid built ) models. All the models have nail polish I think brushed on and parts glued where they do not go. I have encountered hubcaps and suspension parts on engines, windows from the wrong cars glued to the outside of the bodies and much more. This was not to awefully bad so I tossed it into the purple pond and this is the result. More to come.

Cool model room addition

I used to have a gardner snake that would only eat goldfish -
Nice build for one that gave trouble. I am glad you stuck with it. Looks great! Also thanks for touching on the ribbon topic. I was always to embarrased to ask what that was. I knew it was military related but not what for. Salute to a cool panel and our veterans.

Nice looking Bird! Color is good and details are nice. Good job on the BMF. I'm glad to see this build as I have wanted to buy this kit but have not really seen one done. Now I think I want one

Cool model room addition

Actually I do not have boxes for about 200 projects and I had them in baggies crammed into bookselves. It works for me I am fortunate due to my loft is HUGE and all mine The only thing I share it with is my pet Rats and my drum set. Past the model boxes and bins is an area full of model trains, Hot Wheels and Nascar diecast I think now is the time to say I love my wife -
These boxes are a space saver! Toby, my roomate ( Mudpit602 ) was able to get a couple of these boxes with bins from an auto parts store. I re-organised a bit and it saved so much room that I think I might be happy with it. Just an idea for you guys to check out to make rooms practical. In these photos... ( bins for projects/junkers ) Free... Wire shelves.. ( about $7 at thrift stores). Case for finished models.. $10 at a yard sale for 2 of them.

This here is my shot at the Optima. I did not realise Aftashox was working on it too and his certailnly looks better but I will say this was cool to start scratch building. I am not sure the size but the "6 pack" is Evergreen tube and I used Evergreen flat styrene for the top and bottom. I doubled the top and drilled it for the posts. I have this on the work bench since I still have to work out the right cables and PE parts. I think I like the start though. Enjoy

Don't you hate it when you try to fix one problem and create another one? I took the dremel cutting wheel to open up the blower opening and didn't really pay attention to where the chuck was and messed up the hood. I had to sand it all down after body work. Oh well we get mulligans sometimes right?

My buddy hooked me up with the Chevy truck because I need the frame for another project and my friend at work ( assistant manager ) buys old storage units to sell stuff and she gives me the models she finds. This Ford is the 3rd car in 2 months free and this one is nice. Started but the 2 tone is nicely done and the hood is kitbashed. Lots of extra parts. I might keep this one this way and make it an old school strip car.

I think it is about time I pipe up and comment on your car here. Like I have said in the chat room I love it! Now on the other hand I had a conversation with a member here ( a friend of mine ) I spoke of you like a model god but that you make me mad ( sarcasm ) I can't believe you make this amount of detail and put it together SO FAST! Thats where you loose me is the speed of the build. Great looking car and amazing detail. I can't wait to see it myself Oh I also made my own Optima without realising you did one. I did it with evergreen tubes and flats. I did the posts but I have PE connections that are to small. I have to fix it. I see yours and I like the route you went. Have a good one buddy

This could be a hair raiser
Railfreak78 replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That Jeep thing might be fake but there are some trails like that here in AZ. My dad took a truck on one as a kid on Mt.Ord but they have since cut into the mountain to widen it. Also the back way from Lake Pleasant to Crown King has one spot that is very narrow with a cliff if you are in a full size truck. A very cool trail if you have a quad. I did it on a 3 wheeler. Crown King is a small town in the middle of a mountain top with a hotel a couple shacks and a bar -
So here it is after the dunk tank and some scrubbing with a tooth brush. Outside of a little staining from the yellow I am down to the molded plastic. Grey-ish white and molded black. Almost a Brand new canvas. I am really excited about this project.

Thanks Highway!

That forklift picture is AWESOME! -
I finally got eyeballs thanks to my wife and a drone as well from her. I also got the Jeep from a friend for free.

Crooked Deals ?????
Railfreak78 replied to Romell R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have been VERY fortunate on the trading issue. I have traded sealed for sealed. I have traded Junk for Junk and EVERYthing between. I think it should be common sense that if both parties dis-agree then ship back. NO SLANDER, or trash talk like some have done. ( Not you btw ). I felt bad myself once cause I was very clear I was sending basically junk and I got really nice fresh cars for it and I am now working to get that guy better stuff. Take the high road and know Karma will hit ya back . I do not think that anyone here should let any one member abuse you for what you have or be rude to them. Communication is key people. I have held Communication very high with every deal I have made and I have traded with people here that many say it is ok and with people that most will not and have NO bad experiences. -
Hi all, This idea came to me with the Camaro ( Midnight Z ) kit I am working on. I am doing a stock version and the kit only comes with smoke windows, headlights, and Tail lights. I want clean ones. The tail lights are a major factor on the back of this style car and I want to just paint them Model master transparent red. I really don't want dark headlights. I am sure some of you have been in this boat with other kits. Can you Bleach White clear parts like chrome parts? I know I could probrably get parts from you guys out there but I had to ask as I see this as a neat issue to share.

Thread Hi-Jackers R U 1
Railfreak78 replied to Romell R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ok here is my 2 cents ( and thread jack to change from cats...? right?...) This thread has gone to the Rats! -
Hey everyone this here is going to be my large scale project diving in with both feet. I want this to be really detailed and very realistic when it is done. I think it is 1/16th compared to my 1/24 and my 1/18 metal replicas. I got this kit free years ago from an ex roommate and it had several layers of paint on it. I am missing one stock tire and wheel ( Help needed if someone has one ) and missing windows minus the rear. ( I think I can make them ) Anyway this is a long term and if you guys have cars this size I would like to see ideas for details like engine bays and such. Next pics are after the dunk tank. Enjoy!

Nice looking Ferrari. What did the wheels come from? Those are sweet!
-
I love the detail to the dash! Looks sharp and I can't wait to see more. Nice work.
-
The Krylon Gumdrop is great. The newer nozzle on the can sprays very well. Inside it has a bit of a darker stance than outside or good lighting but here is another glimpse of it.
-
Now thats different and very cool! Nice work!
-
Looks good The color with the black, stance and the wheels really make this look fast and sharp.

Nice projects and I love the Pete. Looks like something Chrome Shop Mafia would do. I met one of those guys and love the fact the give truckers cool looking rides. I like the fenders and look this is taking.
